I was just reading about that. Never tried it because I always did the normal toothpick. Thanks I'll give that a try. I'll look for the stock firmware. It's the metal box M!10.

Not sure why but the box wouldn't flash unless i was already in recovery and then chose ext > sdcard. Wouldn't load if I did toothpick method with sdcard installed in box first.

I guess I could try an android rom and see if it'll read it without going into recovery first. I'll have to try that tomorrow when I get up. Thanks for the suggestion, didn't even consider that since I seen it wouldn't even go into recovery.

I flashed with sdcard. Loaded up through recover and it installed fine. But after reboot it wouldn't turn back on again. Just the small blue light on the front side of the box is lite. Can't boot into recovery anymore, clock on the box doesn't come me on. And continuous no signal displayed on the TV screen.

I did waiting on a response. And since I'm a member here and seeing a lot of knowledgable members here. I figured maybe I can get some suggestions here.

From the looks of it. Looks like the box is bricked now. Now I'm trying to do some search on how to fix it. Was thinking to maybe try the short circuit pin fix.

Was wondering if someone could help me here. I have a MXQ S812 with square remote. For the life of me I can not get this remote to work in recovery. None of the buttons I push will navigate through the menu. Can't even choose OK to reboot the box. I never used the square remote before so not sure if there is something I need to so to set it up. I've always used the round remote for the M8

    Thanks

Update: I had to put the usb dongle in first before I booted into recovery to be able to use the keyboard. Remote won't work at all.

After I flashed 5.95.5.2 rom that Kerber just built. My box won't even turn on at all. I have not idea what happened now. I can't even boot into recovery. All I get is the little blue light on the front of the box.

The s905 has full 8 and 10 bit HEVC hardware support. You need a t.v. that can display 10bit color. The current offerings without HDMI 2.0 port is a joke in my book. I suspect there are many out there like me that will not touch 4k for a long time making the MXIII-G for my use viable for a long time.

Apparently, most s905 boxes do have HDMI 2.0 the new Beelink Mini also has Gb Ethernet. Low prices and additional features make the new boxes appealing for those looking ahead to 4k.
Yeah I figured it was an overheating issue - Antutu is designed to push all components to their max, hardly a reflection of real world use (even less relevent wrt openelec, as it chews a fraction of the resources android requires - This was why I thought I'd test the higher speed using the hotplug scheduler (Theory being, 2-3 cores occasionally peaking at 1.9Ghz would be less stressful than 4 cores running constantly @ 1.6Ghz) - Ideally, all the heavy duty processing is passed off to dedicated silicon (mali, etc), so the CPU should rarely if at all have to crank all 4 cores to their maximum clock speed.

I'm much the same wrt to the s905 - My "newest" TV is about 5yo, & they all play back my library exceptionally well, with a little help from openelec - While I have little interest in 4k or the latest fad's in TV, my hope is that the improvements required to cater for this newer display technology, filters down to improve the quality of the display tech I do use

As far as my work on the MX3g is concerned, I really am just "standing on the shoulders of giants" here - I only offered up my builds to fill the gap until it got officially supported by one of the openelec/amlogic regulars (considering the bang/buck value of the MX3G, I actually thought this would have already happened) - I will continue to do this until this does occur, or I reach tweak nirvana with this box (yeah, right - The people who deserve a beer are the ones that made my minor tweaking possible (codesnake, kszac, kerber, etc) - My take home for this is that I've been able to expand my knowledge/understanding of the entire Goog TV/Openelec eco system

Researching the Tronsmart MXIII Plus 2gb, there is no doubt that it is using exactly the same board as the MXIII-G 2gb. There is only a different logo on top of the box, Tronsmart may have customize a boot screen but the hardware is the same. There is a Beelink MXIII Plus 2gb that has a different WiFi chip AP6535 which includes AC.

I remember trying this rom before I found Kamik's openelec build - Probably didn't give it a good shake however, as the Gig ethernet didn't work (I have to run another ethernet cable for the MX3g, most of my testing at the moment is using the 5.8Ghz wifi - I'll have a look at what version of the wifi firmware it's using however, as I know there has been a few regressions with the newer wifi firmware, & it's fairly easy to use the older version if it proves more performant than the latest one.
Thanks for checking out the 5.8ghz. I have wired my home with Gb Ethernet but many others use WiFi. Someday soon I maybe using WiFi myself.

Hmmm... That's strange - I'm not seeing this, but then, I only have one TV capable of passthru audio (AC3 only via hdmi) - I have done another build using kodi 15.1 - could you see if this exhibits the same problem?

    http://5.189.137.29/Openelec/MX3G/Op...5.5b-k15.1.tar

Admittedly, I tested my 5.95.5.3 based build for a couple of weeks before posting it here, the 15.2 updated included updates for a few other components of openelec at the same time, so I'd like to prove if kodi is the cause, or something else

    Thanks!
    Hi wilro_6276

Thank you for taking the time to do this, really appreciated. I did some more testing and it seems that on some content sound delay is present because of bad encoding. On PC (w7 and openelec) works fine, it happens only on mxiii-g box under openelec (all versions, under 5.95.5.3 it happens only later in the movie). So it must be somthing with amlogig openelec. Please also set up a way for us to buy you some beers as haba said.
    yours
    Mark
