Note: I have only minimally tested this (latest kerber git), & I have NOT tested the "Toothpick" install version at all, but as it's based on kamak's original, I suspect it should be fine

(Oh, only tested on the 2Gig model

    Enjoy!

thank you very much. i will try it on a 2gb mxiii-g. will report back

    Rob,
Thank you for the new toothpick install version. Your efforts are highly appreciated! I noted you're testing on the MXIII-G 2Gig model. I think it's important to stay focused on one quality box.

Toothpick install from post #49 works great on my MXIII-G which arrived today from Gearbest. Many thanks to the creator/uploader.

I tested the toothpick install (on a 2G MXIII-G). Worked fine. I did manually wipe data/factory reset before booting. Thanks for providing updates.

After a bit of poking around, I was able to build my own & fix a couple of issues I had with the original:

    1. Fix poweroff (kszaq)
    2. Make the power button shutdown instead of suspend (suspend resume usually required a "reboot" to get network back anyway
    3. Rollback to Kodi 15.1 (kszaq)

This can be downloaded from my server here (copy to /storage/.update dir):

Anyone wanting to build their own version can grab my addon's for kerber's git tree here:

(This is my first custom build of openelec - Feel free to point out anything I stuffed up

I notice Kamik has posted his back up on a different server ( http://xbmc.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=4587&page=190 ). kszaq has got the dual boot to work as well for his mk808b+ rom, would that be difficult to make work? again many thanks for the rom.
    Hi stannoplan,

Yes, for toothpick install, you need to install Kamik's first & then upgrade to my build - I've just pulled in Kamik's git tree ( https://github.com/Kamik/OpenELEC.tv...elec-6.0-kamik ) so I can compare his build to mine (my build was hobbled together from kerber's S82 & M8SP builds + extracting core configurations from the original 4.4.2 android rom my next build will include a toothpick install version (hopefully!) - Actually, it looks like kamik is trying to get his M8S/MX3G stuff merged with kerber, so I'll rebase my own build based on that when/if it occurs.

One thing I should have noted is that my build is based on the 2Gig model of the MX3G - I haven't tested it on the 1Gig model (Kamik's build appears to be based on the 1Gig model, which worked fine on the 2Gig - not sure if the reverse is true, however

Yes, I really like what kszaq done with the dual boot (I did the dual boot thing with my MXQ-S85), however, reverted to using the stock install as openelec ran faster/smoother using the devices internal storage - I will have to take a look & see if it's compatible with the MX3G (It'll make it easier make test builds, at least

    Ciao,
    Rob.

Will you update to kodi 15.2 final ?
Do you know if your release implemeted 23.976fps videos stuttering fix?
Im playing now with kodi 15.2 final release to see what is this 23.976fps videos stuttering fix that they implemented in android.
I think for this to take effect you have to go to seetings-videos-playback and set ajust display frame rate refres to (on start/stop).
Thank you again and looking forward for more updates.

    Hi Mark.

I currently follow both kerber's & kszaq's build tree's for openelec (I have MXQ-S85, HD18Q & the MX3G) - kszaq runs "stable" kodi releases, while kerber merges more regularly with the latest openelec - I expect they'll both move to kodi 15.2 release once they consider it stable - As it stands, I found kszaq's kodi more stable, which is why I downgraded it for the MX3G build (I also want to keep the same kodi ver across all 3 boxes here - I'll certainly be releasing new builds for the MX3G at least, as there are still a few "quirks" with it that I want to hammer out.

The 23.976fps thing I've been following for quite a while (80% of what I watch is @23.976) - I've seen 3 things that produce this occasional stutter:

    1. Movie quality too high over wireless (not a prob over Gig lan)
    2. Poorly encoded movie/audio (ie. does it on my PS3/Showtime device as well)
    3. Upscaled Movie src file (ie. 576p->1080p, etc - the MXIII does FAR better upscaling the original file itself

I've watched several of my BR movies (35-45Gig files, 1080p/23.976fps) flawlessly on the MXIIIG over gigabit lan.

When using "adjust display frame rate refresh to (on start/stop)", I get the following:

    src: 25fps Disp: 50Hz
    src: 23.976fps Disp: 24Hz
    src: 30fps Disp: 60Hz

I found leaving it fixed @ 60hz, combined with disabling all the TV's picture enhancing options (motion+, edge smoothing, etc) produces the best playback quality overall (My TV's are all older samsung display's)

That said, I'd be interested to hear if android + kodi 15.2 does resolve this issue (esp. for No.2 above) - My PS3 is my "Gold standard" for comparing playback quality - If it could handle H.265/HEVC I probably wouldn't be dabbling with these amlogic boxes

Not sure - If Kamik's build works, I'd expect my one would (Mine's just using the latest git from kerber + kszaq's kodi ) - Originally, I found kerbers S82 build to work pretty well for the MX3G, with the exception of the GIGE port, & the the M8SP worked giving me GIGE, but no wireless - If the MX3G build doesn't work, you may have better luck with kerber's M8S/M8SP builds for the M10 ( http://amlinux.ru/image/ )
