Need some help, Issues with 1080 and UHD

    Hi all,

SO I bought this box here on ****.
    http://www.****.de/itm/161412096256?...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Under settings it said model MXIII-G, version 4.4.2 build 316k4

when I got it I selected the 4k output and my tv did say it was getting a 4k signal, but everything was running in 720. could only select 720 in youtube, and in kodi under system settings it was also showing 720 and not 2160. I couldnt event get it to show 1080

So I sent that box back and got this one, 2g ram instead of 1, and an HDMI 2.0 connection.

    http://www.****.de/itm/191411635414?...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Under settings it says model MXIII, version 4.4.2 build 112k4.

So the problem Im having is that I have set the output to 4k since it hooked to a 4k tv. But android still says its 720p. When I open up kodi and look under system info, it now says 2160, so its def working better than the last box. AT least I can play 4k vids from the HDD:

but android still says 720p. Which means in apps like netflix and youtube, I can only select a max res of 720 and it looks absolutely horrible.

Anyone know whats going on here? Or how I can change the settings in android to make it see that it has a 2160 display?

I mean my G3 shows its 1440 display, and I can select 1440 in youtube so its obviously a problem with screen detection. Anyway to manually change this in android? or is there a new rom available for this thing that fixes this issue? When I go to system update under settings it says its running the newest version.

can someone point me in the right direction here? Extra bought this to be able to watch 4k youtube and netflix, and now everything is stuck at 720

    Thanks,
    Steven850

YouTube won't usually do better than 720, it's an Android thing evidently. However, try the OGYoutube app, it will let you view or download YouTubes to 1440. 1080 works well too. I don't know about Netflix, but I think it usually won't do better than 720 on Android either. Using the browser Opera running in "desktop" client mode, also allows HD youtubes.

Its not a youtube/android problem. I mean my p990 has a 1080 screen and I can select 1080, my G3 has a 1440 screen and I can select 1440 in youtube. The Z5 has a 2160 screen and you can select 2160. Youtube limits the max res to that of what the screen is capable of. and according to cpuz my screen is 720. SO the question is how do I manually change the android settings to get android to see that it has a 2160 display?

Tried the OG youtube just for the hell of it, same problem. Cant select higher than 720. Even if that app worked, that doesent help me with amazon video or netflix since android is still reporting a 720 display.
