Hi, when looking for audio info on the x8 I really couldn't find any ...so this is what I have so far. I ordered the unit from GeekBuying with 10 bucks DHL (3 day option), ordered on Wed received following Tue. I had my fingers crossed that multi channel would work and was disappointed that it only showed 2 channel via HDMI when plugged to 📺TV. After reading awhile the Intel reacts to what the TV tells it as far as how many channels to use.
. I purchased a Denon AVR-1611 from some crack head on craigslist for 70 bucks. Plugged the x8 and wham....... Dts, digital Dolby, dd plus all show up under supported formats. I was a little nervous that no formats showed while I had it directly to the tv.
Now I'm happy I got the x8 and it does everything I had hoped it would. So this post are for those that.....like me......was unsure of the audio via HDMI situation.
ps......kodi passthrough works flawlessly via HDMI.
