Update your Kodi, its like driving a old car compared to driving a new car, all the bug are worked out on the new and performs better (you can always reinstall addons with addon installer (http://www.tvaddons.ag/addon-installer-kodi/) if anything gets mucked up). Also, do not buy Tronfy, there customer service sucks and support is awful, I purchased one and had no end of problems (it just didn't work), past return period with amazon had to go through Manufacture for refund, it took 2.5 months for support to tell me they cant do anything return the box for a new one, I returned for refund instead.

Just use a file explorer program such as ES file explorer and then enable - show hidden files - in the tools section, then find a the xbmc or Kodi folder inside the Android/data folder and rename it to org.xbmc.kodi 2 or anything you like - this would then be a copy for backup purposes. Then you can install any version of Kodi etc and test it out then you can see if it all works etc. Then if it does (which it should do just fine), then you can copy it back - rename it and then see if your setup plays nice with it. Hope that makes sense.
