Better cooling for my MK808B Plus?

I bought an MK808B Plus from gearbest at the end of july, shipping took a bit longer than I was expecting but I finally got it at the first of this week. After doing a bunch of emulator testing I was left with a less than positive opinion on this thing. I wrote a rather lengthy review/rant on the Low end Android facebook group about it. Even simple snes games choke a bit. In epsxe, I noticed the game performance seemed to degrade the longer I played. I assume this had something to do with heat throttling. I watched a Youtube video on how to open up the case on the MK808B so I then went ahead and popped mine open. Once I removed the board from the case I noticed a piece of slightly stiff black plastic tape covering the cpu and memory chip. I don't know if that was intended to be a super-cheap heatsink or whatever so I just pulled it off and reassembled the thing. I'd like to get some more airflow into this thing so I can set the cpu to run full speed all the time and maybe get better performance in my chosen emulators. Can I cut out the little vent in the case with a dremel and maybe put a few bga memory chip heatsinks onto the cpu and memory chip or would somehow rigging up a fan be better?
