If yes and your chief complaint is, "one minute it works and another it does not". I may have a solution and it does not require your gun or hammer. According to the camera on my phone, sometimes there is no output from the IR LED when buttons are pressed. In my case, the cause was intermittent battery contact, effectively turning the remote on and off. I rectified this by making sure to stretch both positive contacts(spring terminal) over the case when reassembling the remote. I suppose one could also widen the area where the battery's positive contact "pokes" thru the gap in the case. Evidently it is not quite wide enough to allow some batteries to make reliable contact with the positive terminal. See below. Give it a try, though it does nothing for the remote's ridiculously narrow beam pattern, as long as she's aimed right, she works every time. Good luck. CAUTION BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO THIS, IT DEFEATS THE CASE'S FEATURE THAT KEEPS AN INCORRECTLY INSERTED BATTERY FROM BEING IN-CIRCUIT WHILE AT REVERSE POLARITY. Just pay close attention when changing batteries.
