Vigica C70s Root or not ?

I purchased 4 Vigica C70s 2 years ago because it had XBMC and Satellite. Searched the web back then and nothing about my boxes Now 2 years later ! Yea
Question The problem I have with KODI is there is not enough memory on my box for the user data. So I have to move the folder over to SD card
Doing research on this box found a OpenElec build for it ,still some what confused I saw live TV in Kodi using the Satellite. So I am at a cross road Do I do a firm ware update which is available do I Root it or Do I use OpenElec ? My head is spinning which is the better path ?

well installed the newest firmware it all went well the box boots up fine the screen looks good..........But now when I blind scan for channels it does not find any ! Is there away to put back the old firmware ?

Well I guess I am in the wrong forum can anyone recommend a forum that supports Vigica ?
