MXV armlogic s805 TV box switching itself off to standby

Your help will be very much appreciated. I recently purchased the MXV armlogic s805, model chiptrip and the box is switching itself off randomly, most of the time in less than 5 minutes. I changed the display settings from 1080 to 720 and also tried on HDMI and AV port, the behaviour is just the same. Sometimes it just switches off by going on standby (red light) right on boot up and sometime it happens when I am surfing or watchng a video. Have you guys experienced this or have an idea what could be causing this and how to rectify the problem? The seller is abroad and if I return, I will not be reimbursed the shipping, which is quite pricey. Thanks

Hello, I don't own this box. But have you tried other firmware? Have a look here.
Also, power supplies delivered with some budget boxes are problematic. If you have another suitable power supply, give it a try.

Thanks RIScy for your reply. I will try to get another power supply and see if that will help. if not then I will re-flashthe box with the firmware that is available on the link sent. I will update you.

Please keep in mind that I don't have an MXV, others here can provide better information. Trying a different power supply is a good first step. However, prior to flashing, please read through the previously linked thread. It is good to know ahead of time, what, if any, issues exist.

BTW There are several users of your device on these forums, as well, there are several posts on it. Some will be called Chiptrip MXV, others just MXV, so look for thread's under either name.

I have updated the firmware and the same thing is happening. it didn't help. I will now try to change the power adapter but do you guys know the right pin size of this charger? also will the charger of the M8 or MXQ fit and work on this one?

I don't know the barrel and pin size of your box's power jack. Just make sure the "Tip Polarity" and voltage are correct. Amps should be equal to or greater than your MXV's power supply(AC adapter).

I have the same problem with switching off and when I changed the display settings from 720 to 1080 and back the Browser app is deseapeared. Say what way helped with your box and what way to change firmware ( There is 19112015) ?
