Trouble upgrading the CX-919 Firmware

Hello!

After numerous tries upgrading to the correct firmware, i still have issues with a laggy video/streaming playback. I have ruled out slow/bad internet connection being the issue, and come to the conclusion that i am trying to upgrade with the wrong firmware.

These are the firmware upgrade i have tried so far. All using a combination of the Rockchip Batch Tool and Finless Rom Tool (using a Windows XP machine):

The "pureX KitKat V1" - http://goo.gl/cdfkhe

The "NEW ANDROID 4.2 STOCK FIRMWARE FOR TRONSMART CX-919 AND BETA ANDROID 4.4 KITKAT FIRMWARE" - http://goo.gl/6EYqKE

I could really use some help to find the right firmware - with LESS LAGGY video/streaming playback for the CX-919.

Hi Welcome to freaktab.

Both theses FW worked well on my CX919 & since you have the stock FW you can always go back to stock if you don't like them

Hi Welcome to freaktab.

Both theses FW worked well on my CX919 & since you have the stock FW you can always go back to stock if you don't like them

I just tried upgrading to the Android 4.4 version. It worked!! Although, i am greeted by four linux penguins, and a red kitkat logo - before just getting a BLACK SCREEN and nothing else.
What did i do wrong?

You did nothing wrong,There are so many different cx919 about I guess there could be some hardware changes on your cx-919 Just keep trying until you find one that works,,& always ERASE NAND (IDB) BEFORE FLASHING TOO

Hi!

Both firmware's just leaves me with a black screen and nothing else (i did erase nand IDB - and the run was OK).

Here is my CX-919 specs:

Flash: 8GB
DDR: 2GB
CPU: Quad Core

It is a Tronsmart.

Would it be too much to ask if you could recommend other firmware's that offer less laggy video/streaming playback than the stock firmware?
Now that the two you listed just leaves me with a black screen.

No trouble at all as I said both the roms I linked you to worked very well on my CX-919..Its more or less impossible to tell you what rom will & what rom will not work as there are so many different cx919 in the market its just a matter of finding the right rom for your device. I am having a bit of trouble installing the other rom you suggested. The readme included does not help much. Not sure how to install it using the RK batch tool.

Rom working!!!
Finally, after spending so much time trying out different programs and roms, this one worked! Man, i am so trilled!

Thank you a lot to blinkone for showing me the rom, and thank you to walter77 for making it! It has perfect video playback in 1080P 60FPS, streaming and non-streaming videos!

Glad you got it working Anton_BR The cx-919 is a dam good stick i still use mine from time to time & it works great i use the finless 1.6b as it just seems to run very well on mine.
