MXV box can't pickup network time from wifi

I'm new to these devices so please bear with me, I have an MXV by chiptrip and it doesn't pickup the network time from my wifi, I am using a D-Link DIR605 cloud router, all of my other wireless devices get the network time form the router with no issues, the MXV does not have I overlooked something in the setup? The device does hold the time if I set it manually which is a pain but it works, does anyone know how to solve this little issue. Other than that it rocks good through put and excellent video and audio quality, any help would be very much appreciated.

I don't own this box, but usually, other than setting the timezone, my box does the rest without user input.

Hmm.. 3 options
1.desktop/settings/lan or wifi/advanced' now manual set Dns to 8.8.8.8
Or
2.just keep the device running 24/7
Or

I found the issue, when the firmware was flashed for some reason the time zone in the Google play settings was turned off, I turned this back on and everything works fine.
