Not sure what you mean with "OTA: After the upgrade is complete , Into the system desktop interface ,KODI for data backup reduction the operation ,5 minutes, please do not startup KODI ,In order to avoid loss of user data."
What do we need to do?

after installing firmware - turn box on -
      when it boots to launcher
wait another 5-10 minutes as Kodi + other apps will self install
as specified do not start or use Kodi during this time

Once I installed the software - i received a popup message telling me theres a new update available -

        4.4.2 KOT49H 20151024 test-keys

        Update includes:
        1. root
        2. netflix playback (issue mentioned in another post)

First time I've noticed a 3rd party box want to update

There must be someone reading these forums and I would like to thank you

        update was painless

Thanks for the info. Just installed it then applied the OTA update. Will wait and see what happens next. I noted that Kodi wasn't installed (kodi updater was)

OK waited for about an hour, no kodi installed. Installed from the market. Sound still has issues, lagging by ~175ms.
            Otherwise seems ok.

kind of pointless installing Kodi when this build has a Kodi optimized version installed

              instructions I followed:

installed the initial update in post 1
waited 5 minutes after install as suggested
              Ran Kodi

              OTA update pops up
              install update

Well as I said I installed it, left it plugged in (switched ON) for an hour, NO KODI. SO I DOWNLOADED IT. Where did you find it It isn't in the apps menu.

OK retried flashing again. No format.
                    Started up, OTA'ed it.
IT then asked me to REMOVE Kodi, so I let it.
Waited for 30 min, no Kodi installed.

Just reflashed AGAIN, this time with format so will see how this goes.

OK No boot this time, just sitting a the MBOX logo.

OK Gave up went back to the TRONFY X2 MMK version.

I do not know why you had such an issue, I just reflashed my box with the above.
after a few minutes it asked me to auto-update, it downloaded and installed the latest firmware automatically
in both instances Kodi was available

I don't know either, but I have documented what I did each time. The 2nd flash with format just sat on the boot screen for 10 minutes before I gave up on it.
