Well, that depends...
If you need 4K but no H.265 Playback: S802
If you need H.265 Playback but no 4K: S905

If you want 4K H.265 Playback: Choose another box (e.g. with S812 or S912 chip)

EDIT: Okay, maybe i was mistaken. The description says that the S905 indeed supports 4K. If this is true, i would definately choose the S905.

The 4k is not an issue, but the 1gb of ram gives me pause, don't know much about s905 didn't know it existed until I saw this box. My understanding it's am's next gen entry level "s805" with new A53 64-bit cores but only 5 gpu cores vs 8 (s802) for the are ever gonna update your grandpa's gpu Mali-450. It seems like it's probably a wash performance-wise faster cpu cores but fewer gpu cores???

I would go for the Mini MX, the s905 is a brand new SOC from Amlogic, its 64bit, the clock speeds on this particular box are 2ghz, Mali 450 is perfectly capable still for most things, especially if you use the box mostly for media streaming. In addition, and for me that is a big one, HDMI 2.0 which supports 4K at 60fps, the other great plus is the gigabit LAN added and the BT 4.0 and Android 5.1.
All and all, the Mini MX is brand new and more future proof, BTW I ordered mine over 10 days ago from gearbest, but still waiting to be shipped 😢

I tried to get one once already from a different vendor, but when he asked for an extension from 4 days and wanted 15 more days, so 19 total before shipment because he was "out of stock". Well, I canceled when I checked the listing and it showed he claimed to have 400+ pcs. in stock..

I have just received my first batch of these ,look on **** if you want to purchase so far so good Kodi works fast as promised and the wifi is ok even though it is 2.4ghz no problem streaming full HD

The best price on **** is $59 not sure why I would do that when I can have my pick of s802, s812, s905 boxes on amazon for less $$ Sick of dealing with china, so it looks like a s802 box for $33 from amazon warehouse is the deal..

You actually might be lucky for cancelling your order, from what I have read the early devices will have an issue that will not be able to be addressed with any future updates, most likely related to the HDCP 2.2, early production boxes will be missing the certificate. So bottom line, better wait a month or so.

I really don't need this now, it's for a spare bedroom for when guests come to town, which means summer, I got sucked by the "11-11" sale @ alibuba and a $55 s905 box for $35 delivered, good deal but with the ext. 19 days a couple weeks shipping were talkin maybe 6 weeks before it shows, no thanks. I'll prime it, and have it 2 days with no hassle 30 day return, vs 45 days and the "have you ever sent anything back to china?" return policy..
