Easy way to backup and restore userdata?

I'm having a lot of trouble with my MK809III and I'm really hoping for an easy way to backup and restore the userdata (or data or user... no idea what the difference is). I'm tired of reflashing, then having to resetup the entire stick again. Any ideas? If I boot into recovery, it just shows that android robot laying down with his front stomach panel open, and I can't do anything. I tried flashing a CWM recovery.img (from the Rockchip flasher program on my computer) and though I can boot into it fine, I can't mount the SD card in order to do any backup or restore.

There are a couple of tools on here that allow you to backup the whole ROM including optionally, userdata but from my experience, when placing back it can be hit and miss as to whether it works.

So what I do now is use Titanium Backup Pro to backup apps and data and then restore in just a few clicks.

Saves so much time and for the one off expense, worth it's weight in gold.

I tried Titanium, but it creates a bunch of files, and not a simple img file. That would mean that I have to re-flash the stick, load it up, add my Google Account, install Titanium Backup, load back on my backup files, and restore everything.

I'm hoping for a simple way to capture the userdata.img and just flash it along with everything else when I'm redoing the stick.

Takes a long time to flash. I would use twrp or cwm

I've already used that ROM dumper tool. I got a userdata.img, but when I went to restore with it, it didn't restore anything. My device simply looked like a fresh install when I booted it up. Isn't there an app to do this? I tried the nandroid app, but it created a data.ext4.tar and not an .img file (plus, nobody has still told me the difference between data.img, userdata.img and user.img).

            What is your goal? Resell?

My goal is to make it as easy as possible. I am tired of having to reflash (it keeps crashing randomly on me). I just want a quick and simple way to do it. Flash everything with my computer, any time I make a big change I can back it up with an app and store the .img in Google Drive or whatever. Then when it comes time to reflash, I can bring it back to my computer, download the .img and reflash again.

I would just use Clockwork Mod or something (that's easy), and the restore by booting into CWM, but I can't get it to work. I flashed CWM, but it won't mount my SD, therefore it can't backup or restore. I used this CWM: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...y-for-mk809iii Is it the problem with CWM? Or my device? or compatibility?

Maybe not correct mount point for yours. Try backing up to internal SD then move it to external with es file explorer. Then if something happens flash your stock and move to internal then restore

Also try formatting SD card with official SD card formatter. I never ran into problem with rk chips but I know amlogic are picky

No, it won't mount the internal SD...

An easy backup solution as long as you have root access is to use a backup App called Helium - hope that helps.
