MXIII Plus jittery display on 4K TV
I posted this in the Tronsmart subforum but thought someone might notice it if I reposted here. So new MXIII Plus 106L fw but the display is slightly jittery when it is set to 4k/2k 30hz....the old Orion Meta (RK3288) didn't exhibit this problem so was wondering if any other S812 soc user with a UHD TV has noticed this with the latest Tronny FW...Tags: None

After a while the jittery display seemed to stabilise. I watched a couple of short video and all was good, then when one of the video stopped playing the TV seemed to lose access to the player. TV reported lost signal. Blue power light was still on, but I couldn't power the box down via the button so I pulled the power cable left it for a minute and reconnected. Pressed power button blue light came on but nothing on TV. Tried this several times but nothing seems to happen so is there some way of checking by hooking the box up to the PC and check the system somehow...I only received the box today, haven't had much chance to play all I have done was download Kodi 15.2 stable to replace the RC it came with...

Just in case anyone here is actually interested or come across similar behaviour. I went back to the box after a couple of hours and it had reconnected to the TV. The problem is as I sort of suspected the Amlogic hardware acceleration within Kodi, although that does not completely explain the slight shakiness of the display I originally reported even without Kodi running, but that too seems to have stabilised, maybe the chipset is now burnt in or something. So with the latest 106L1 fw and the latest 'stable' 15.2 release of Kodi the Amlogic hardware acceleration algorithm is dodgy.

Sorry for cross posting but in fact the shaky display appears to be caused by my U-Vision active upconversion cable. I have been using this to assist upconverting 720 and 1080 to 4k and it worked exceedingly well with the Tronny Orion Meta RK3288...with the MXIII Plus I get the shaky screen. Normal HDMI cable no shaky screen and no decent upconversion...anyway that still doesn't resolve the AMlogic hardware acceleration codec problem in Kodi...
