External USB hard disk problems.

Hi all,
i have just received this box, everything works fine apart when i connect an external USB hard disk. I tried different cables and with some good ones it can mount the external drive.
Nevertheless after some minutes it disconnect the drive without any advice and making all the file-system corrupted.
I changed the DC adapter with a good 2 ampere one but no succes. Has someone else experienced these kind of things?
Is it something related to power or its something related to other reasons?
I have no clue...

hi,
most android device give little power to the usb ports, that why you need a external powered harddisk
-note sometimes a external powered hub can be enough

what kind of device/model/size harddrive are you using?
