Q8 tried install wrong firmware, semi-bricked.

    Hi,
I've a Q8 Rk3288 TVBox, it is 2gb ram 16gb version with this label XT 20141204567 ST, another serial on the board is: XT-Q8L-V10
Now it doesn't boot anymore and I can't flash anything, actually RK Batchtool is green it starts to flashing but remains stuck at Level 3-1 Tested %100, not further.
Whatever I tried didn't help anyone know original firmware of this device?
Device is working, I have access to it with Bootable SD card but I can't do more than accesing Recovery menu of RK 902ii firmware.
Please any help will be great.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

I own this box for a week so I'm no expert, that being said, on this forum there's a procedure to boot the box into "masked rom mode", it's a last resort for when you've bricked your box, have you tried this?
    Read about it here: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ck-your-device
This could possibly solve your issue.

Also, I have the exact same box, same label, same everything.
I'm planning on doing a full backup of the stock firmware this weekend, I can share the backup with you if you're interested.
    Just let me know.

    Regards

Hello, I do not own this box. But Geekbuying might have a firmware for it, if this is your box here.
It will be up to the user to determine its suitability. I don't know if 2GB/8GB box F/W works on a 2GB/16GB. But I think as long as the WiFi chip is covered, the extra 8GB should not matter.
      Here is the page.
      Good luck

      A couple more resources.....

        Hi,
I have original firmware but I just can't install it to device, RK tools stuck at Testing device %100 not anymore.
I've tried almost everything but no luck
Now it is booting from microSD card (interestingly RikoMagic firmware only works), not perfect but yeah at least I can play FullHD movies and run a few light apps.
