I did all the tests with MK808 2dark4u 1.5 Beta1 kernel.

I changed my post because I got loads of PMs of people asking me to share the MK808 1.5 kernel.

I will do the same test with the 2dark4u 1.4 kernel and I will report later..

Oh..ok..just wanted to clarify in my mind if the udark4u 1.5 beta 1 kernel will be a significant improvement to 1.4...By the way, my personal Citadel testing using Finless 1.7c/udark4u 1.4 achieved similar scores to your Finless 1.7c/Udark4u 1.5 Beta 1

Hmm...were those roms tested with both 2dark4u kernel v.1.4 or Finless was w/1.4 and v2.2.4 w/1.5 beta1??
Not too sure whether the high Citadel score was attributed to better roms, better kernels, or combinations of Rom/Kernel....

I tested my mk808 with Finless 1.7c + 720p2dark4u kernel and it was much faster in Epic Citadel than V2.2.4 + 720p 2darku4 kernel.

1.7c + 2dark4u kernel scores average 54fps. (SetCPU 1,4GHz, performance)
V2.2.4 + 2darku4 kernel scores average 42fps. (SetCPU 1,4GHz, performance, noop)

with 1080p you may have some problems.
go to developer options and disable hw overlays

After further testing I noticed :

* Rebooting using the "power"button on the taskbar takes very long.
(+/-1:20 minute before reboot starts after that normal).

* Ethernet adapter often does not start properly.(Switch on / off / on).

* Sometimes the OS becomes unresponsive.(you still can move mousepointer but you can not click).

ok. I have huge delay on sound and video in youtube with 2.2.4 and 2Dark4u 1.4 1080p. I'll try other kernel.

Test result V2.2.4 + 2dark4u 720p kernel.

My setups :
1x MK808 with standard cooling + 2(real)A power supply.(non-chinese)
1x MK808 with modified heatsink + USB hub with 2.2A charging outlet.
USB/LAN adapter (random ****, white plastic).
RC11-Air mouse.
500 Gb USB disk.

For this test I used my standard cooled MK808.
No external micro-sd card.
SetCPU set on performance 1,4Ghz.
full!screen app.

First I benchmark 3 times, then I reboot and then I benchmark 3 times again.

7.3-5.7MB/s, 6.6-9.5MB/s, 8.3/6.3MB/s, 6.9/>50MB/s, 6.8/20.5MB/s, 10.6-20.5MB/s.


RAM : 1702
CPU integer : 1889
CPU float-point : 1555
2D graphics : 1495 (1280x720)
3D graphics : 3251 (1280x720)
Database IO : 560
SD card write : 73 (7.3MB/s)
SD card read : 57 (5.7MB/s)
CPU frequenty : 1416MHz(x2)

Epic Citadel - version 14 May 2013 update [gives lower score!] (High quality) :
(Sound does not work correct for me in Epic Citadel with this ROM, in Finless 1.7c+1.5beta1 sound does work correct).

66°C after 6 Epic Citadel benchmarks. (after warm start and after 6 antutu benchmarks) (measured through the holes in the plastic above the heatsink).


Linpack for Android :

Single-Thread : 55.889 / 56.644 / 56.644 / 56.606 / 56.606 / 56.644 MFLOPS.

Multi-Thread : 92.981 / 92.776 / 91.816 / 92.471 / 94.703 / 95.508 MFLOPS.


55°C after 6 Epic Citadel benchmarks, 6 antutu benchmarks and 12 x Linpack (measured through the holes in the plastic above the heatsink).


XBMC :

Playback H264 23.976fps 1280x720 (60hz)
cpu0 18 - 35%
cpu1 16 - 38%
No frames dropped.

Framerate when IDLE in system/systeminformation - +/- 80fps

When XBMC is running IDLE it seems XBMC does not lock its framerate so it rockets to +80fps and the temperature rises above 61°C so when IDLE the MK808 gets warmer than when playing movies for hours.


conclusion :

This new hybrid ROM works very well, benchmarks are very consistent.

Performance and temperature is about the same as Finless 1.7c.

I will have to test some more with this ROM but my first conclusion is that this ROM is fast and stable and works good with 2dark4u kernel.

the rom 2.2.4 appear fine. Only youtube is not working ok. the image appear strange on youtube.

Any one with the same behaviour?
