    KitKat has immersive mode.
As soon as you run an app, it goes fullscreen, hiding the status bar.
You can then bring up the status bar again or hide it with swipe up/down while in fullscreen.
It can even be set on per app basis, so only certain apps hide the status bar.

Why would you want to run an Android 4.1 ROM on a device that runs an Android 4.4 ROM?
KitKat already has more than 70% of improvements that this ROM has.

    Kernel module config

You said to ask questions, and I have several

I am looking for a kernel for a Tronsmart MK808ii (Basically a 808B) that has a config.gz so I can add kernel modules to it. Is this kernel patched at the binary level or build from source... Does it have a config.gz (Or better still a kernel .config) that I can use.

Finally a third question, If anyone knows I would prefer a kernel config for the stock Tronsmart 3.0.36+ kernel as well. I have managed to get kernel modules to load but the structure alignmnet is wrong in disk drivers and I2C drivers. A config that works with the stock kernels modules should be pretty close.

    Can you help with that?
    Thanks
    Bob

    External CD/DVD support

    Hi Lewy

Is there any chance to implement a ISO9660/Joliet CD/DVD driver support in your ROM/kernel? Or a way to activate the module trough init.ro?

Some guys from xda have managed doing it, one for the Asus transformer and one for the galaxy s3. I am not an android developer enough to do this.... You know I have a collection of about 600 DVDs (4 to 6 divx/xvids/mkvs in each one) and if I should turn my PC on in order to share the DVDs content then I'm missing the "autonomy" of my mk808b... I know, the best way is with a HDD, but what to do if I already have those HD mkvs burned on DVDs?

Well, these are a couple of kernels with ISO9606 /Joliet support:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1929126 this one have github an modules listed

So I have a Slim DVD LG rewriter GP08NU6B and an ample collection of mkvs and avis burned on DVDs, but I haven't managed to mount this drive despite searching and searching, I don't know if it needs specific drivers, but in LG's website there isn't drivers even for Windows... But it seems to work fine on Linux: http://linuxhcl.com/browse/product?id=7881

Somebody made a good tool for mounting optical drives for the Toshiba Thrive tablet*here:

If you have the time, can you take a look at this please? Thanks a lot! I really appreciate if you at least consider to take a like look at this...
