Help with firmware for MK819 box.
I have a Android box that says on the front. MK819 Android 4.1 Mini PC. Someone had put linux on this box and the box is now froze up. Can anyone help me with putting a new firmware on this box? I have tried looking everywhere but can't find any instructions on how to do this. A updated firmware would be nice too. Thanks in advance.Tags: None

Hello and welcome to Freaktab.
Forum activity is a little light at the moment. Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber-Monday have contributed. Many are playing with their new toys. Many will be preparing for Christmas and other holidays. So don't despair. Though it may take a little time to get the answers you seek, I am confident you will get answers, if known.
I do not own this device or any RK3066 device. I say this because any links, suggestions or info I provide for your device are pure speculation on my part. Many of these devices look similar if not identical, but hardware variations(WiFi, memory, PCB versions, etc) may exist. The wrong firmware can brick your box and I am not responsible for damage caused by using any info I post here. As with everything, the user is responsible for their own actions.
Does your box look similar(case and/or ports, card slot, etc.) to this, this, or this? The UG008 looks different case-wise, but the ports, power switch, card slot, etc seem identically placed. Geekbuying often offers Firmware and instructions in support of the devices they sell(UG008 example). Most don't do this, that is why many buy from them.
I found this 4.2 F/W, I don't know if it is correct for your device, but looks similar. You will probably need to open your device and ID the WiFi chip you have. While you are in there, look for info on the board(PCB), such as maker, model and version. Record this info and post it in this thread, this will help you find the correct solution, if available. Take some photos while you are in there too.
I hope something here helps. But hopefully someone with experience on your device will weigh in to help more.
Proceed with caution.
Good luck.Last edited by RISCy Dude; 07 December 2015, 10:42.
