So I just got my m8 from gearbest, the board version shows m8 & m9 v2. There is no recovery on it so a recovery.img needs to be places with the firmware on the SD card. Anytime I try to update the firmware it always gets stuck the animations stop even after 15 minutes the progress bar doesn't even move. When I tried to install openlec itwent further but now the box won't even load into the OS. But I can still get in to try and load firmware. The same way as before. Any ideas? I've tried every custom roms and all official rom on GeekBuying.

thanks i did try that one and it failed, i then went to flash an s812 firmware on and the staus bar did not freeze and completed but then ended up bricking my bock because i only had the blue light then proceeded to use the recovery from the s812 rom to flash finless and then i got pure red light. now i am stuck trying to find the correct img file to flash using usb burning tool. getting stuck at 2% probably because it's not the right image. -
looks like it's a paper weight now. usb burning tool is not even detecting the box at all now after a few different flashesComment
