    NEED: ROM for MK809III with Mediatek Wifi and frameskipping fixed

    Hi, I have a MK809III and I cannot find any ROM which supports Mediatek Wifi and with the frame skipping fault fixed... Does this exist?
    Thanks

    Do you have a ROM with working wifi and Android 4.2.2?

      I use 8188 GT 19300 htc t018 public Mtk 20140127, I'm not sure if it is available for download somewhere. It supports the MTK wifi, but video playback has frame skipping...

        Can you use adb to dump the rom? Go here to get the script and dump the kernel and I can patch it for you.

          Hi, I think I don't know how to use it, but I have uploaded the img that I am using. This is the ROM which works OK with the MTK wifi but with frame skipping in video playback:
          http://www.imenas.com/files/8188_GT-...update.img.rar

          The kernel file from this ROM is this one:

          And this is another kernel file which has the frame skipping issue fixed, but is for a different wifi device, so when I upload this kernel I have no wifi connection:

          Hope this is enough, thanks in advance...

                WOW, that's great, this kernel works perfectly, now movies and videos play smoothly and also I have wifi connection (and bluetooth too!). Many, many thanks!

                What would I need to have support for mkt wifi in 4.4? I have tried some versions but they don0't support mtk...

                Anyway, right now it is perfect for me, thanks again, you have helped me a lot!

                      Hi... i'm new here, this is my first post.
                      First of all I want to say thank you in advance to all people ca help me... and not, because I believe working on ROMS is a huge job. I'm a computer programmer too, not so close to linux but I appreciate every kind of help.

                      Well Shortly i bought a MK809 III TV Stick from a store and the first thing I wanted to do was rooting it with no results, without making a ROM backup.

                      They sent me an old version unfortunately with Rockchip 3188-T and rtl8723bs wifi/BT, 2GB RAM / 8GB ROM - KitKat 4.4.2.
                      Under Windows 8.1, 2 days ago I pulled with adb build.prop , changed ro.sf.lcd_density=160 to 200 just to try, then pushed it back and when i rebooted device, it used to stay stuck at android logo. I left it some time, like 10 minutes at least but it was stuck. Then the dongle was unusable at that point so I decided to flash "UGOOS UG007B stock firmware 4.4.2" rom downloaded from site, but i suspect performance is not the same as when using it before the mistake. (ROM has ugly "SMARTBOX" logo). Build seems almost same.
                      I dumped ALL the ROM with AndroidTools 2.1 in a file (IMG, of course not working), just in case i find a solution.

                      What i would like to do is have back THAT original ROM. I suppose I must post some informations to clarify . I still have original build.prop coming from factory.
                      in that rom i was able to choose 1080p 50 or 60Hz and 3 kind of audio output.
                      Later i'll post some informations about the builds and dates, coming from the build.prop.

                      is it possible that it is stuck just because when pushed build.prop , the file had a bad rights (owner , rights ecc .. ) ?

                      In alternative , i'd like to get a ROM that has a Good Performance supporting of course 3188T + rtl8723bs.

                      Can somebody help me or suggest where to find these ROMS ?

                      Thanks in advance.

                        This is the best I have found, but is not universally compatible with RTL8723BS MK809III sticks.

                          Thank you.... it is the firmware i flashed right now.
                          unfortunately in some moments the stick heats a lot... I almost melted the plastic box. It freezed and I turned off.

                          ORIGINAL ROM had this BUILD.PROP (only initial part) :

                          # begin build properties

                          ro.build.product=rk3188
                          # Do not try to parse ro.build.description or .fingerprint
                          ro.build.description=rk3188-eng 4.4.2 KOT49H eng.hss.20140924.141518 test-keys

                          ro.build.characteristics=tablet
                          .........
                          .........
                          Which worked FINE, no CPU overheating.

                          I was wondering if i can solve the problem by deleting user data , in some way execute a factory reset ... but unfortunately i don't have ADB, so i can just flash img/dump files, unless i can find a recovery for my stick.

                          I was thinking to edit some files or launch a script that does factory reset on boot then see if it works and then remove script.

                          maybe it is simpler by deleting cache and user data.

                          what do you think ?

                          ACTUAL ROM has this BUILD.PROP :

                          # begin build properties
                          # autogenerated by buildinfo.sh
