In your opinion, of all you already tested, wich is the best android tv player using rk3188 cpu?

I hate answering that questions because ROM updates can change it!

Right now I am digging the CX-919....

But I do not have the MK802-IV so this is a little unfair.

I can say that for me it feels stable, but wifi is simply terrible

I guess the CX-919 probably has better wifi than the MK802IV, due to it's external antenna

Is there a way to use a generic wireless usb antenna? There's always the option of replacing the stock antenna by a propper one, but I'm hoping I won't have to solder / unsolder anything on the mk802iv...

Besides the wifi, everything else works good?

I can't say that, but since some problems disappear in 4.2.2 and some new pop up - It is definitely SW issue.

Hopefully those will be fixed when a custom firmware is released

Just got mine, comes with pre rooted 4.2.2 firmware. So far everything works fine, wifi seems to work with no problems even with the device plugged behind the tv and the router about 4 meters away, no lag or stutter playing hd videos, either on YouTube / XBMC or directly from an external hdd. Performance is good, scores about 15600 on antutu (pretty much the same my galaxy s3 lte does). I notticed it got a bit hot after running antutu benchmark but not melting hot or anything like that. I'll keep customising and configuring to see how it behaves with everything I want to use / install on it.

Edit: After making some tests with SpeedTest app, I noticed that for some reason, wifi is faster if I use zon fon free (free wifi) than if I use wifi from my home network, weird... Also, there's no screenshot function under hdmi settings, and no auto hide for the starus bar.

Just got mine too, it do not boot, it hangs on boot screen, I'm very disappointed.
What do you suggest to try?
Is there maybe an ubuntu boot image somewhere to test?

I would install firmware 4.1.1 (wifi works great but system and gpu performance needs improving)
or 4.2.2 (good system and gpu performance but almost kills wifi) to solve the boot problem

                    PS.
Android 4.1.1 does not work on SKYPE webcam Logitech (antutu 14000)
Android 4.2.2 is faster and more stable(antutu 15400) also works every version of XBMC,but the problem with SKYPE

Thanks, I was wondering if it is the same that I can download from the rikomagic site (http://www.rikomagic.com/en/download/do_1.html)
I can enter in the recovery of my 802 IV but how can i control it without the up/down volume keys?

                        ???

On mk802IV wifi works (i am not sure about BT though)

I have no idea because if I try to enter recovery all I get is the green android with a red triangle on top...

Works for me, I installed it so that I could use overclocked kernels, but wifi is pretty much dead (like on all 4.2.2 firmwares I've tried so far), as many others have reported, I have no wifi problems on 4.1.1 firmware

                            My mk802 arrived BROKEN
I tried the firmware update of the official site: does not work
I tried the 4.2.2 suggested by BrunoNRG and it gives me CRC fail when I decompress it
I Tried NEOTV CROM for Flycast MK809III as suggested by Gasp and it works

wifi works for me and bluetooth too
                            Thanks

PS Anoyone know how to control the recovery whitout the physical keys? I tried to connect my usb mouse and I can move between the menu
but I can't give the "OK" command (right center and left clicking are useless )

The wifi problem comes with some wifi encryption try to connect the 802 to a free (not encrypted) wifi and it will works with 100% signal. Al least for me

How do you enter recovery, you use the reebot to recovery option on the recovery app that's on the app menu?

Edit: Nevermind, I entered recovery but, like you, I can't control it either

I enter with the physical key on the side of the 802.
Did you try to connect the usb mouse? Is moving betwen menu possible but clicking useless for you too?

With the recovery: no more usb driver intall problem... we have to make it works!

Did you tried to switch off encryption from your router to see if the wifi works better?
