T428 and webcams

Does anyone know if the T428 works with USB webcams when using the stock or finless 1.4a firmware?

I have several and none work. The kernel is missing some basic drivers. Just wait... this will all get solved.

flash the latest android 4.2 firmware, and tested with logitech C170 webcam, it can work.

Great news! With the latest firmware update (Kernel 2013-05-30), my USB webcam (a Microsoft one) works perfectly.

I've tried a Logitech C510, it doesn't seem to work :-(

A Logitech C210 shows video but the microphone does not work. No input audio device shows up in the settings.

Using Skype and the Camera application.

I finally got Skype working with BOTH video and audio using a Logitech C210 on the T428 using the latest official firmware:

I tried this firmware before using a Logitech C510 but it didn't work at all, after that I tried many other roms but also to no avail. When I found out that the C210 worked video only on Bob's 1.5a T428 rom I decided to give the official firmware another try. This time with good results :-)

I hope Bob can make a new Finless firmware for the T428 using this new official firmware :-D

Thanks for your answer.
I have installed the same firmware but with the c170 and Skype I did not have video and sound :-( That's very strange. is the driver so different from one model to other?...
I will try with the next update and I will tell the result here.

Are you using a powered USB hub? I had problems when using an unpowered hub with a USB webcam before. In a terminal window, after su, running dmesg showed an overcurrent on port xyz.
