T9 locked in TWRP - Please help.

My T9 was working well. I was hoping to get root through TWRP. Now it is locked in TWRP ....

    Sequence of events
TWRP 2.8.6.0 Ported by <mr.d.macdonald> ...loaded days back.
Downloaded, and installed V 1.08 for T9 from here.

Installed file from within TWRP, then opted for root option.

Locked up. Must have been the version of TWRP !

    ADB Sideload will not start.
Have restore files loaded on the SD card. They show in the TWRP file manager, but when I try to select External SD Card in the Restore function ...the files are not there (nor any other files, System or otherwise).

I was able to get back.
I opened Device Manager in the PC, and noted that when I plugged the tab into USB, it gave the option to open the tablets file system, including the SD card.
I was able to move the restore file to a folder that TWRP could see, and then did the recovery from within TWRP.
Still want to do this right, but I will be careful the TWRP that I load.

      Thanks for the reply.

Finally, your device is locked by TWRP or not?

It was in a boot loop, would not boot to the system..but always back to TWRP. After I was able to place the restore file where TWRP could see it, I was home free.. able to boot into the system.

            As I've mentioned before,
Now we have a several version of twrp

If you do a backup by TWRP 2.8.4 or 2.8.6
and then you switch twrp to 2.8.7

when you need to restore from the old files(backup by 2.8.4 or 2.8.6)
TWRP 2.8.7 will not be able to see those files.

            same as the other way
TWRP 2.8.6 will not be able to see files that backup from 2.8.7

            to solve this problem
you must go to TWRP directory on you micro sdcard
and copy or move a backup file betwen a sub directorry of TWRP

            According my opinion
TWRP is not enough ability to lock a device,
If you lack the understanding and use it incorrectly.
It can brick a device by your hand.
            same as the other way
if you have learned enough to use it properly.
It was able to fix or renovate a brick device back to running as well.

              Thanks. Exactly what happened.
Boot loop was probably not the best term, as it was not looping. It was just stuck, and would not finish loading into the os.
Not sure why... maybe because there were remnants of the iRoot that I deleted, and when I tried the root from within TWRP, it did not like it.
Just glad I am back with a functioning Cube T9! 😊
