Rom flashing question - I don't want to brick it.
I'm kind of new to this. I have a MXIII-G amlogic S812 android box. I would like to flash it, but I have some questions. I have done it once. Someone gave me a specific file to flash and I did. How do you know which ROM will work with your android Box. I'm Assuming any of the roms listed under S812 in this forum? I currently have PROBOX2-EX 20151125 runniung on mine, but it locks up. I'd like to completely wipe it and reinstall it from scratch, but don't know how to wipe. Also, if this one doesn't work, what others can I try or would you recommend? I was told to go back to a KitKat version, but not sure where to get one for this box.

You have the wrong idea about roms. Roms for one device do not work on other devices just because they have the same processor. The amlogic s812 is a processor that is in many devices, but all the devices are different and do not use the same roms/firmware. You need to install rooms that are made for MXIII-G. A good way to find roms for you device would be to simply Google roms for your device "MXIII-G roms". You never ever ever ever ever want to install a rom/firmware from for one device on another device.
I can help you find a from for your device if you need me to.

Here is an android 5.1 rom for your device. It is installed by using the amlogic image burn tool. The burn tool comes inside the download with the rom. Do you have a USB cable to put in your device and your pc? The rom is very easy to install as long as you have the USB cable to connect your device to your pc. Here is the link to the rom https://mega.nz/#!lJt01Y6K!qAJiQHte5...ZEkGcaOlKSnK7U

Thanks Porkie. I'm downloading it right now. Which Rom is this one? What will the interface look like? How do I completely wipe my box and start over? Everytime I use the toothpick method with a new zip file, It just lays the new rom over top of the old stuff. Someone told me that I should get a menu to wipe everything? If so, when and how.
