Can we use ROM_Flash_Tool_137 to flash this and all other roms or must we use geekbuying installer?

When the entire ROM is a single .img file (like udpate.img) you must use the RKBatch tool.
However in all my finless ROM kits is the "alternate reboot to flash tool" which is in fact the RK batch tool. So you do not need to download the tool from anywhere. Just go into one of my rom kits and run the batch tool there. At the top click the little box and select the .img ROM file. Use the restore button to flash it.
Also you do not need to reinstall any drivers if you have already installed them from one of my ROM kits. Both tools use the same drivers.

Experience with new rom 5-29-2013
I installed the new firmware today and here are some of my findings. Netflix appears to run, but not audio. I tried the Logitech HD Webcam C310 with the camera app, but when I click on the cam icon, an image will display but then crash to the desk top. Also, there is no mic function. I tried several times, each time rebooting the stick. I have not tested this device very long so far. With the prior firmware, the ethernet dongle would run for a couple of hours and stop working. I will test later to see the problem has been corrected. Also, the video quality from the prior version is not very good. I will also, test this later. I base my observations and evaluations on my MK818B which I purchased about a month ago. It seems to work flawlessly, and it is running 4.1.MK818B, T428, ATV 1220, CS918S, TV01, S89H, R89, ADT-1, MK808B Plus, MINIX X8-H Plus, Tronsmart Orion R68Comment

About the Webcam problem you are talking, it may caused by your USB HUB, we met the same problem before, but when we change to a new hub, it can work. please try.Originally posted by clarkss12 View PostLooking for developers

I am using a new 4 port powered usb hub. I really doubt that could be the problem. However, the ethernet is working well now. Netflix does NOT work and still no audio from Netflix. The video quality is getting better but still not where it could, or should be. Maybe that is what people are referring to, when they say it is dropping frames. Overall, the firmware are getting better. I am waiting for Finless Bob to work his magic on this version. Flash a rooted ROM or use ADB to root it. You DO NOT have to be rooted to flash a ROM!Originally posted by gullty View Post

At last!
So I guess sometime during the next several days I'm gonna have to try to figure out how to renew my interest in the T428 enough to flash another ROM. Not that discovering a new assortment of things that don't work isn't fun, I'm just not sure that it's more funner than some other things I'm hankering to do lately.Comment

Netflix working
On a quirk, I tried Netflix again and it will work for about 10 minutes then freeze, even have audio. This was tried using both the ethernet usb dongle and wifi. I don't know why it works now and not before, I changed nothing that I recall. Since Netflix started working, I thought I would try the webcam again. One thing I did notice, was that when I clicked the camera icon an image would display. The strange part that I discovered, was as long as I did not move the mouse, the image stayed on the screen and was actually displaying in real time. In otherwords, it was displaying me as I moved. But as soon as I moved the mouse, the camera app would crash. I removed everything from my 4 port powered usb hub except the cam and a small RC9 MeasyOriginally posted by geekbuying View Post

Everything else seems to be working OK. The video quality is still not great. I use my boxee box to veiw my movies from my Synology NAS. XBMC works fantastic, except for the video quality for playing my movies. All my movies are just plain rips from dvds in mkv or ISO format. I know the hardware is more than capable of having fantastic video quality, the firmware has to be fine tuned to utilize it. Have had more time to test things now, I have my t428 running steady at 1.6 ghz but video in archos and mx player still has very noticeable jitter (im not sure if this will ever be resolved), the camera app crashes immediately upon clicking the icon (using logitech 310) and netflix has the worst lag out of anything but video and sound do work. Cifs still isnt supported and ive found that if I remove any of the stock apks that google play store and google services framework start crashing =/ Minix needs to hurry up and release the x7 because of all of the rk3188 devices and roms released so far I havent seen or heard of one with non-jittery video playback so they are looking like our last hope. Or maybe its just the rk3188 soc that is having the problems at not the roms at all, it could just be some messed up hardware because I honestly have better video playback using software decoding.Comment

Odd you say that about Netflix. For me, it is working the best so far of any T428 ROM and even better than my ported MK908 1.5 ROM.
Possibly a wifi issue on your end?
Try getting the wifi analyzer APP from Google Play and change wifi channel?

Camera APP
The camera APP does work with my C610. However it has bugs.
1) If you move the mouse around the video hangs. When you stop moving the mouse the video starts again. If you do this too much it will crash the camera APP. Then the video driver gets stuck and you have to reboot or the camera APP will just force close to the desktop.
2) It wont record video or take pictures at all. So it's useless.
Skype DOES NOT WORK for me with the C310.

Netflix works fine on my neo x5 and mk808 and they are all sitting right next to each other with full bars @ 65mbps and approx 1 ft of distance between them and the router. Im willing to bet if video decoding and the UI in general wasnt jittery that netflix would work much better. Apparently this rom doesnt appreciate the lcd density being changed either because after changing it from 160 to 210 it booted but with no network activity working and then after a second change from 210 to 180 and restart my t428 is in a boot loop lol.
