MK802-IV How to downgrade to 4.1

    AW: MK802-IV How to downgrade to 4.1

    I have a good 4.1 I will try to load it on the mk802 IV. Reporting back.

      (you should be able to DL up to 25-30 Mbit/s - 4.2.2 will be uploaded in 15 minutes - 2Mbit upload )
      I will keep files there for few days, but not permanently

      btw i have no clue what am i doing, i am just randomly typing something in console (till this day i had no clue what DD was so i read wiki and as a result i typed:

      su
      dd if=/dev/block/mtdblock9 of=/sdcard/dump conv=noerror

      God that file keeps growing... Is it supposed to be in hundreds of MBytes? (i don't even know in which block is the kernel tbh) Sorry for ignorance :P

        I dont believe mtd9 is the kernel.

        Get a list of the block to see them. type

        su
        cat /proc/mtd

            No that does not mean anything. This is just how nand is partitioned. Just dump mtd1

                      OK I downloaded kernel and LOOKS GOOD! Anytime you dump a NAND partition there is going to be trailing garbage you can only clean up with a hex editor. It's because the kernel itself is smaller than the NAND partitioned space. So yea... I got to clean the dump up with a hex editor but it looks good! Header is on target!

                      I am now downloading the 4.1.1 RAR file and will let you know.

                        OK.. everything looks good! .tar file is OK, recovery has the correct header, etc...

                        Your DUMP was not smelly

                        Now here is the thing.... I am busy up to my elbows... I will do my best to convert all this to a flashable ROM as soon as I can. Bottom line all looks good and this can be converted!

                          this is awesome news!!! - sorry that I am not a developer and able to contribute more than my device for testing but cant wait to see what comes of this

                              Also I have version 4.1 on my MK802IV. If you need it for something, you can count on me. And, apart from other faults (if you understand Spanish you can read in this post) in my firmware can not find or do not have installed the application "eHomeMediaCenter", so I can not use the remote control app or send content from my pc.
                              Anybody could look if installed on your machine and send it to me?. I tried an old version of this application from another model and it does not work.
                              While some new rom comes out, I could use either.
