I have an older Marantz SR5002 7.1 receiver. It can only decode 5.1 formats (Dolby, DTS, etc.) It can only handle 7.1 channels via LPCM over HDMI or 7.1 analog inputs. What I can't figure out is why I'm only getting stereo PCM between Vidon and the receiver. (using BD iso's with HD Audio, some with 5.1 and some with 7.1)
Tried several different "high speed" HDMI cables
Unplugged the TV from the receiver (some thought the TV handshaking might be limiting the receiver's capabilities)
I'm not using an optical cable (limited to 2ch PCM)
Vidon settings:
Audio output: hdmipcm
Number of channels: 7.1
Output configuration: Optimized
Passthrough is turned off
HD Audio codecs are unchecked
In some screenshots from the web, I see settings in Vidon for "Mutlichannel LPCM capable receiver", but I don't see that on my system. Am I missing some option somewhere else in Vidon?
Or is there some limitation in the s905 chip that can't handle 8ch LPCM?
This all I can think of for now, I can certainly provide further details if necessary. I'll post this question to the Vidon forums as well. Thanks!
