MXQ AM_MXQ_A Firmware ?

Hello,

Has anyone come across a fully working firmware for the MXQ AM_MXQ_A 20150825 OTT box ?

All firmwares i have tried, including the Openelec firmwares do not have working wifi drivers and the LED stays on blue all the time.

The wifi chip in this box is the Realtek RTL8189ETV

This Android one works OK "mxq-ota-20151028" and ok on wifi and led, but no proper shutdown option. The best OpenElec is the one by "therealjohngalt" on here somewhere but not correct wifi or led drivers. Good luck getting it "perfect" there's just too many MXQ variants around for them all to be properly supported.

I have found the "perfect" firmware for my version of the MXQ . Everything works , LED, wifi , clock sync and shutdown. Here is the link incase you need it to

I'd like to test the above image but its not in the usual format to install via the recovery method so don't know what to do with the file. Usually there's a zip file and a couple of other files but here there is just an .img file so a bit lost.

I think you would use a Windows PC with the USB Burning Tool and an OTG cable. Info.

Thanks, that worked fine :-) Didn't even need external power, the USB cable (in USB4) seem to power it enough. Was a little worried if it would overload the PC's USB circuitry but it was fine. The image itself seemed the same in functionality as the 20151028 one I mentioned above except that it didnt have the Clear Memory feature on the home screen (and I dont know how to add this) and also it had no facility to actually Shutdown, it only went into "display_off/standy" mode.

The device you posted is a *Rockchip* device and nothing to do with this thread which is about an MXQ with an *Amlogic* chip. You might be better off asking in a more relevant part of the forum to get visibility of your question. Seems the "MXQ" brand has got even more complicated now the same name is used for Rockchip devices.
