Tronsmart R68 Meta vs Tronsmart Vega S95 Meta

I have this Tronsmart R68 Meta going good. However, I see it (or RK3368 or Kodi) has issues with 5.1 passthrough via SPDIF or HDMI. Though my RC RT2911 receiver (I know its an oldie) does not complain when I configure Kodi/Andoid via HDMI, I am unsure if it is truly receiving 5.1.

My friend got Tronsmart Vega S95 Meta and there seem to be no sound issues nor passthrough issues as per him. It has its own minor issues like no root, many ads etc, which I believe can be taken care of.

So, I want thinking of selling my R68 and going for Vega S95.

Would that be a bad decision? What other things should I be aware of.

rk3368 has problems that I don't think rockchip can fix, and even if they could fix them, they probably wont!

go for the s95!

I'll never buy rockchip again, I got burned with rk3066 and now rk3368, aparently I did'nt learn my lesson

Yeah, I still see audio video shuttering issues reported even in the S95 thread. Have not read the whole thread, but last post I read, was Finless getting involved. But I hate to flash ROMs since I have fried one my earlier devices.

So still S95 is not good out of th box, it seems, until it is compatible with the latest Kodi?
