So easy to un-brick 1 or 2 GB units You must use burnBootCard.exe and put uboot.bin "supplied with the zip file" on the SDcard first. Then extract the contents of the zip to your SD and toothpick load it.

Ive only found one openelec file that will work with this MXIII 4K its actually not an MXIII its an M8S box LOL. OpenELEC-AmlMedia.arm-M8S-6.0.0.4.zip will work with no remote, no bluetooth, no wireless unless you use a usb blutooth adapter. thisfile is useless.Last edited by trebor; 14 June 2016, 04:40.

Hi,
Have identical board like shown with same dates and MXIII V3.1 on sticker but with extra M4335 printed, have other Nand flash (Sandisk) fitted on my board and for 100% sure another wifi chip. (Broadcom BCM4335, wifi, bluetooth).
Comparing your wifi chip to mine, the board area around the chip looks more lets say "professional" on my box.
BTW mine is a Amlogic S802 box!!!! sold as a MXIII, S802 tv box from Dealextreme.
Had problem to go in stock recovery (toothpick), it was just going into a loop with smart tv boot logo, with TWRP MXIII_V3.1 found on Freaktab it was possible to boot in recovery and made full backup of the box.
This is a weird box, coz only firmware versions I found that I'm able to flash is actually for the Beelink Android 4.4.2 MXIII-G with a S812 CPU (h.265 decoding)? But build.prop in firmware not showing H.265 decoding??
Think I had same build version before like first post, but updated to more recent build.
Found this on BAIDU, named Firefly MXIII 2G_v3.0_bcm4335_8g2g_kodi_addons_160118_SD upgrade.
It containes "cyx_MXIII_v3.0_bcm4335_8g2g_kodi_addons_16011 8_SD " folder with the files " aml_autoscript, factory_update_param, recovery, u-boot and firmware.zip ", this you need to do a SD card toothpick upgrade to m111k4_bcm4335-ota-20160118, Android 4.4.2.
Build number MXIII.V3.0.201601181539.
With stock and upgrade I did the only flaw of my box is that the date&time is gone after completely power off the box, by taking plug out.
After boot it takes too long to receive the date&time and Google Play Services gives error and stops, coz of date of 1979, Playstore also not working coz of that.
Have to wait till date&time is updated and reboot box with keyboard, CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
After that everything is running fine and without any issue, removed all the crap apps also Kodi and reinstalled Kodi from Playstore.
Think there are many clone boxes. So can't confirm if your box can handle same build like I do.
Hope it helps.
EDIT:
Also version "cyx_MXIII_v3.0_bcm4335_8g2g_kodi_addons_16012 6_SD 升级" works on my MXIII V3.1 box.
Build number MxIII.V3.0.201601261040
No issues so far and now also shows wifi mac when it's off.
Anybody found a version after this one that works without issues ??Last edited by Meteordust; 19 September 2016, 18:31.

Very old box - but has worked well - just would like to upgrade!
I have exact same "clone nightmare" as the OP. I bought it from e bay from GooBangDoo ! Not surprisingly, they are unwilling to help.
I simply want to upgrade android version to e.g marshmallow via GApps and add som basic software - don't need any fancy apps as I only use this box to let kids stream BBC iPlayer.
Anyone have any recent instructions on how to upgrade it?
Useful links:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/and...mxiii-t3124351 the last post in the linked thread has a possible solution posted (not tried it yet)
Maybe possible to use the M8 firmware here - but I have not (yet) tried - I might give it a go for a laugh - though it would be good to be able to confirm the exact AM Logic details. Still not sure if this thing is S802..... I'm not sure how to find out!
I'm about to bin this thing anyway....
