RK3188 MK809iv Please help!! Can't access developers option or Ethernet

I'm very new to android, (10 days now) I have a MK809iv (RK3188) running 4.4.2 There's no developer option under the system menu, I've clicked on "Build number" option 7-20 times and it says "no need, you are already a developer". Below is the "About device" info, and interestingly when I run Device Test Tool app under "System Info" it states the Kernel is 3.10.0 No matter what I've done the "Developer option" which should pop up between "Printing" and "About device" are no where to be found and also the Ethernet will not enable, just switches back to "OFF" position when I click it. I'm using an Aukey USB Ethernet bridge, I've tested it on another device and it works, I have 4 mk809iv devices and one of them works fine, the other three have this issue. Can anyone help with this or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Model: gxtdongle3188 Android version: 4.4.2 Kernel version: 3.0.36+ ren@gxt#485 Wed Jan 6 14:48:30 CST 2016 Build number: gxtdongle3188-eng 4.4.2 KTU84Q eng.ren.20160112.174602 test-keys Vendor software version: RK3188R-BOXANDROID4.4.2-SDK

OK so in my case I found out that the turnkey reseller had turned developer mode off after turning Ethernet connectivity off from the dev menu. Some manufacturers don't disable the feature and some do. The ones that do claim that it interferes with the operation of the unit making it run hotter or destabilizing it somehow. I found out you can go to the rockchip website (a little knowledge of the Chinese language won't hurt) or find a disk image of the relative unrestricted droid os online and retrieve it. You can then flash or burn it to the unit and set the appropriate parameters (google how to flash or restore your chipsets firmware os, etc...).

In the end I decided to not mess with the 809iv rk3188, after having 3 burn out on me, and went with the 903v rk3288 which runs like a charm ($20-$30 more but it works). It seems that the 809iv's have a bad habit of over heating and then burning different components out, mainly the graphics chip.

The information is not readily available and I had to do a lot of searching to gather all the facts I needed to make the right decisions. I hope this helps anybody else who comes across this problem.
