Well, It went wrong. I am stuck :
E: failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (No such device) : 3 times
E:Failed to mount /metadata /dev/block/platform/ff0f0000.rksdmmc/by-name/metadata (Invalid Argument)

i used Android Tool v2.3 to flash the firmware.

If someone can help me ... I would appreciate it

for this u use the RKBatchTool (one .img File) or AndroidTool 2.35 (for both) on first Tab ,

u use splitted Roms , on second Tab u use the full ,img Roms .

Thanks! I figured it out by following instructions on the 5.1.1 ROM for the CS918 Plus. I downloaded the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.8 and it worked. I had to download the Driver Helper v4.5 though in order to get the device recognized. My concern is, how can I split the ROM and change the parameter file so I can use an 8GB data partition? I have two CS918-II that are 16GB, not 8GB.

it is possible to change the "parameter"file with a RK Parameter Tool , you only must knew

the right size , but i never done this before , so best use BigBrother Google for it .

I can upload the Tools if you want or you download them anywhere ???

Tested to work perfectly on CS928,

Everything works and is super responsive! But userdata partition is restricted to ~1GB.

Tried to edit the parameter flie but still reformats the partition layout on first boot. Any ideas on how to change this?

Not connecting to v1.8 Rockchip Batch Tool.
Tried all the suggested steps. Any pointers please?

Also, the boot tool says FW Ver 4.4.2.

Got the right FW now and tried Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 as was not getting any joy with v1.8.
Same issue. I am trying to connect via the USB on the back of box, not the smaller USB OTG socket and am trying to put in power and USB at same time while holding down the reset button.
Would this work if I get another pair of hands to assist?

Seems to be corrupted now. (Modded file I mean)

Using OTG cable now and still won't connect.

Try 1.6 tool in tools section. Select restore as that option will erase nan flash. If doesnt work then try upgrade option.
