I have this box and it is my first. It came rooted from the seller and I was wondering if I ever had to a factory reset thru the android settings, would I have still have root? Are there any need to do's with this box? Where would I get firmware if needed? All help is greatly appreciated. And please remember I'm new to this site and new to the android box game.

Hello scottyP, Welcome to Freaktab and the TV box world. I do not own this box, but generally, root will survive a factory reset. Also, Freaktab member Finless Bob has made a root/unroot package for most AML S905 boxes. I cannot see your picture that well, but I think you will find discussions on your box here.
Posting in that thread will get you more help with it.

btw this is the box i have. i think its a good box to start off with then either build my own or get a better prebuilt one. any pointers on how to make android boxes better in a sense? faster, better, etc.Comment

Unfortunately I have no pointers for increasing the performance of your box. Though keep an eye on the thread I linked to and related threads(S905). Many good custom ROMs exist for some models. If the platform is popular, development will usually follow.
