    Problem going to flash mode

My Mk808B goes into boot loop after I tried to flash the libstagefright manually.
Now I am not able to go into flash mode or the device is not detected by the pc.
When ever I press the reset button, I will not be able to power up (no light). This is the first time I use the reset button as I have not flash any ROM yet. Is it correct to hold on to the reset butto and power up with otg cable to pc or reset + power usb cable? How long does it light up while holding the rest button normally?
It can power up if the reset button is not pressed but will go into boot loop forever.
I tried press and hold on to the reset button and connect to pc via OTG usb cable or usb power cable but still not working. Simply cannot power up whenever the reset button is being pressed.

adb shell shows device is not found. The pc is not able to detect the device in any way including trying on flash mode.

    Have I bricked my device?
    Any advise please? Thank you.

Re: Problem going to flash mode

When you are in flash mode is normal than the light don't turn on.
    Follow this steps please:
    - Disconnect all of the device, then if you have a tv or hdmi screen near of your pc connect the hdmi output, but not necesary to have it connected.
    - Connect the usb cable to a usb port in your pc, try to use a usb 2.0 port, and try not to use a hub between the pc and the stick.
    - Press the reset button and maintain it pressed while you connect the usb cable.
-The pc must sound like a new device is detected. If you don't have it installed before, install them now.
    - Once the driver is installed rkflashtool must said Found a rk device in flash mode or so
    - Erase idb and then flash the new rom.

Hi leolas, thanks for your help I have manage to link to pc afer changing 2 otg cables.
Now I not going to flash new ROM yet but trying to recover the previous ROM first.
      Thanks once again.

I have go into flash mode and flash only the system.img as I encounter the problem after I change some libstagefright files. But on reboot it still hang at boot loop. I am going to flash the backup.img to see whether can I go back to the previous ROM.
Just to check, is update.img or backup.img a full backup of the ROM?
I am using 2.1ROM RKflashtool, will the address any different from the existing ROM?
When parameter file 1G, is it refer to the /data size?

In 4.2.2 roms you cant use the libstatefright patched from 4.1.1 roms!!. The new one must be patched by default and is very diferent that the previous one, this patched lib was for the early releases of 4.1.1.

Backup.img in this sticks is a mistery for me, it is there, but no use that I can found yet. About update.img is the rom in stock format, inside this img file is the entire rom(boot, kernel, recovery, misc and system.img) to extract the rom parts you need to use rktools in linux or wendal tool in windows.

          ok thank you.
I have flashed to Finless ROM 2.1 and it is working fine.
The dd5.1 is also working fine.
But does it includes libstagefright patch? I have to try out xbmc.
          Many thanks for your guidance.

yes, it must be included, at least the 4.1 libraries dont work in 4.2.
4.2 is very new, cause of it, there are a lot of versions runing, some problems to correct yet, but soon more stable releases will be launched.

Thanks leolas. I have set up xbmc and it is working well.

Any idea is USB wifi doogle with Realtek8191su chipset works with MK808B? and where can I download the driver or it is already built in 2.1ROM?

              Edit: 4.1 ROM supports. Thanks.
