Kodi crashing - Displaying "Unfortunately, Kodi has stopped" message

Hi,

I haven't been able to start up Kodi the last few days. It started for no apparent reason, and since then whenever I try it keeps crashing and displaying the "Unfortunately, Kodi has stopped" error message. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, does anyone know the fix? I have been trying to find a way to re-image or re-install Kodi, but haven't been able to (not sure if that will even fix the problem).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If it is Android go into settings then apps find kodi and clear data cache etc

My android box (bought 3 weeks ag-MBOX-M96X-AMLOGIC S905X-upgraded-A53. ANDROID 6.0 -Model M96X- 64Bit) came preinstalled with Kodi 16.1 .
I deleted and reinstalled Kodi 16.1 Jarvis.Now getting this message"Unfortunately, Kodi has stopped" message"".I reinstalled twice but same problem. Other non-Kodi items are working great without any problems.

See YouTube... its a common issue
Disable amcodec.. inside kodi for the time being

most boxes got a firmware update to solve this issue.. check for OTA update

I solved following problems.You can try too.
(1)Go to System-Setting-Video-Accelration- Check off Amcodec option. Restart Kodi 2 times and checked if AMCODEC is off.
Now I am not receiving message""unfortunately Kodi stopped working""
(2) If Video/film or tv channel not playing then remove antivirus and install MX video player and VLC video player for Androids.

I am getting problem with KODI 16.1 Jarvis.
On returning back to home after 3 months, i powered on my ANDROID TV BOX ""MBOX-M96X-AMLOGIC S905X-upgraded-A53. ANDROID 6.0 -Model M96X- 64Bit""My high speed internet is connection to android fine.
Its Google play part with all tv channels,youtube,movies are working fine like before,
But KODI JARVIS 16.1 is not working.All my videos /channels/movies are not working,not updating and some time it says
"can not connect to server""
Kindly advise me what to do??.Is Kodi 16.1 Jarvis working right now?. I like it because it is easy and smooth to work with.

You can install it alongside Kodi without it changing your existing Kodi setup and is built upon Jarvis.

Keep Kodi just as it is.

If you are on your box, use the browser to access the link I gave and download the FTMC Arm General/AML 16.2.29 version which will be downloaded to your box.

Install it and then set it up as you want and test.

You can have both official Kodi and FTMC installed at the same time.

With regards to the official Kodi 17 issues, I would post a thread on the Kodi forums here.
