With finless 1.7 I used to restart the stick from my keyboard .
Do you keep the device running all the time?

How did you manage to "restart / boot" your stick using the keyboard??? Or do you mean you were simply able to wake it from sleep mode?

For sleep it can be resumed, from power off no way.

with finless 1.7 I pressed Ctrl +alt +del and enter. 10 secs later the boot animation showed up, so I guess that must have been a reboot

Then it was sleeping not powered off, you can bring up from suspend state, but not from powered off. When you power off the device the stick disconect all functions, of course can't listen the keyboard inputs.
                Only way, remote ac plugg.

What you are saying about the stick not being able to started from a keyboard is not quite right..

I have just reinstalled 4.11 on the MX2 and I have a wireless keyboard as well if from the desktop I click on the power button and power off and shut down the stick all I have to do to reboot the stick from a shut down powered off state is to press Ctrl + Alt + Del and about 10sec our so the MX2 will boot to the desktop...(The stick is not in sleep state it is Fully shut down and powered off)

If you don't believe me I will make a video AND show it working..

I have just installed Finless 1.7a 4.11 and it is still working I also changed the wireless keyboard and it still works As I have two wireless keyboards different brands...

PS This will Not work with Any Version of 4.2

Then sorry if I am wrong, I only have a mk808b, and it cant be completely power off (the blue light is allways on untill you unplugg the stick from ac with stocks kernels) But I think that if you are not in a suspend state you cant reboot the device. If reboot happens is because the stick is listening the usb port so it is not completely power off, it is like if you keep your tv in suspend mode, screen is off but it is listening the ir remote to be powered on, so power supply and some circuits are working to do that, the tv is in a waiting state.

You have nothing to say sorry for what you are saying is right. All I'm saying is that Android OS is shut down completely and not in a suspend state. The trouble is that it makes no difference you can power the device from the OTG ,USB ,Mini USB power port all these port will power the stick if you are plugging any of them into a powered usb hub and if you turn off the power at the wall and turn the power back on the stick will boot up then and their. But at least we have the option to boot the stick with out unplugging and plugging the power cable to the stick all the time you want to boot it..All I would like to know is why it has stopped working with all 4.2 versions of Android with the MX2 what have they changed to stop this working...

Thanks for All your Great Work

Let me just say... if a wireless keyboard can power on a device... THEN IT IS NOT REALLY POWERED DOWN!

                          1) Power must be supplied to the RF USB dongle to be able to work!
                          2) The processor must be running to respond to the input!

If you think the power down gizmo in the status bar actually powers it down fully.... INCORRECT!
All they do is put it to sleep and turn off the LED so people "think" it is powered off. It is not.

Think about that please.... Does it make sense to you that a wireless keyboard or any other input device can power on something without it having power to respond?

Some ROMs and devices give you a "sense" that it is powered down because the stupid LED shuts off. But it is not powered down! Just in sleep mode.

Oh and yes, like your TV that can power on with a remote control "when you think it is powered off"... It is saving power! Just like sleep mode on any Android device! But is not really powered off and in fact is still burning power at a lower level! There is a processor still using power in order to respond to the remote.

                          Make sense here?

Sorry for using the words Powered Off. That was Wrong of me.

I'm sticking with 4.1 for now so I can at least boot the device with a keyboard..

So then let me refine my question: is there any way to put finless 2.1 in suspend mode, so that I can use my keyboard to wake it up?
