M8s mini No USB controller support

Hi

I have purchased one of these boxes due to the 2gb ram and the android 5.1 so i should be able to emulate some retro games. I wanted to play them with the retro controllers i purchased but it doesnt seem to recognise them. i have even tried to use the Xbox wired controller and that doesnt get recognised either, Bluetooth controllers are fine.
Does anyone know of a different rom / firmware i can use to enable USB controllers. I managed it before with the old MXQ boxes

It might not help you by saying this. But my ps3 controller works fine on most games. Some don't even require tweaking. There's excellent user-friendly settings that help to specify controls for certain games
