    mk903v vs RKM V5 (mk802v) - best support? - which to choose

Hi Guys, I have been a long time lurker and used this great resource many times in playing around with my mk908ii. im now at the point where I want to upgrade to something a little (read a lot) faster and better supported by the manufacturer and the modding community. To that end i have identified a couple of devices i like, both with the rk3288 SoC. The mk903v is available for around £55 off amazon and the mk802v is availble direct for around £75. I like the latter for its 16GB ROM, the fact it has ethernet means nothing for me as it is going to be used as a carPC.

What I'd like to know is your opinions on which device to get based on likelyhood of future rom updates. Which one currently has the best stable rom? I see rikomagic have a forum but it doesnt look that active.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers

The 8GB MK903V runs every RKM V5 ROM I have flashed to it. If storage and Ethernet is important to you, get the V5, and if price is a concern, get the MK903V.

and both are quite well supported? any other devices that might be better supported? (Im definately not expecting the same levels of support as the major manufacturers e.g. samsung, LG, amazon etc, just relative support, the mk908ii didnt seem to have much, at least compared to the CX919 say)

They both have the same level of support, from developers here with porting the Google TV rom and Cloudnetgo and Ugoos and RKM roms for v5 and 902ii, there are a number of beta, working, and stable roms.

There is also a chrome stick that has rk3288 chip on chrome os, so that may end up being possible to run.

Moving to Rkm forum please post questions in the Thread for your device not the main forum.
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

Sorry, I assumed as asking a question about two devices and offers of other devices that might fit the bill I might get a better response from a wider audience. Im sure ill focus on the RKM and will keep my future posts to there. Cheers

For info and to close the thread...

I bought the RKM V5. It's excellent. Has a lot of flexibility in the kernel for different resolutions on the HDMI. One of its major benefits is that it starts up in mere seconds. I've not counted but no more than 20 or 30. Really happy with it.
