    Google play /market 3.4.7 on your 10g2

    Hey Guys

    I have successfully installed google play on my unrooted 10g2, to a while but have the solution
    for those of you who already have a market installed
    • download the link below for the new google play http://ubuntuone.com/7XmV9VBgxruXPpCMBqvTyd
    • go to settings/app settings/manage apps
    • find market and clear data then un-install it
    • now install the goole play apk
    • un-tick news and services then accept
    • you now have the new android market
    you may have to power down a few time to get it working but i never
    Persistence will pay off ,Trust me !!!

    I would first like to say thank you for giving all the info on how to get Google Market without root on the other site. It has been working really well.
    Thank you for the link. However when i downloaded the apk it installed as Google Music Player
    I managed to find the updated Google play 3.4.7 apk from another website and followed your instructions.
    Google Play opens ok but when i try to download anything it force closes.
    Tried clearing cache and data. Restarted several times but still the same.
    Eventually reinstalled 3.4.4 and worked ok. Not sure what the problem is

        I'm trying to find a way round this as in now have the same problem, I won't be defeated

          Gerry, just a tip. When Google Play came out I had a few people Email me the APK they got donwloaded. I can tell you depending on the device they upgraded the APK was a different size file. So it appears that you may not be able to use a generic APK all the time for all devices.

          If you like I can upload just the 10 G2 APK for you to try to make sure you have the right one?

                  DO NOT open it as a ZIP file. APK's are basically zip files that are Aligned.
                  Your browser may download it and rename it to .zip. Just rename it to APK and run it on the tab.

                      OK so let me help. I always knew there were files missing that the Market always needed from these non-ROOT installs. I just never had the time to look at it because I am a root kinda guy

                      So don't make me go download the files you have from some pop up banner site. I hate sites like that. In fact if you get this figured I will give you a free place to upload here to share your non-root Market install kit.

                      So what are the files you have please in your kit? Give me files sizes for them too please.
                      Or a link to download them without BS.

                      I am pretty sure we can get this working.

                          I know... I wont go to media fire!!!! They install trackers and all kinds of BS!
                          Sorry I cant handle that! I HATE IT!

                          It took me 2 hours to uninstall the BS Mediafire installed on my system last time I went there. No how NO WAY!

                          THIS is why I made this place! To allow Dev's to have a place to share LEGAL roms and stuff without using these freaking crappy download places. We should NOT have to be forced to go to a download place that jams people in the face with sites that track everything you do, etc.

                          Let me tell you... the money that some forums make from advertising, they should be HOSTING THIS STUFF!!! Not making Dev's upload to SPAM and tracker based web sites! It is total BS....

                          Those days MUST be over and I am going to help it happen.

                          Gerry if he gets this working (and I will try to help), I will give him a place here to share with none of that BS. IF.... Gerry wants it that is... It's up to Gerry.
