Highly Recommended Media Setup

I have the T428 running 4.2.2

I just setup Plex Media Server as a plugin for unRAID Server OS (list of unRAID plugins) at that house and holyballs is it awesome! I was streaming 1080p and 720p movies/TV shows with no stutter, lag, or quality loss. It works really well and the interface is super clean. One really cool feature of Plex is that it can transcode your media on the fly, so you can stream your media remotly or even to your phone over 3g/4g and it works! You can also link your library with other peoples. So, I being in Kansas, have my library linked with my friends in California, and I was able to stream a 1080p movie from his house to my T428 and it didnt buffer at all!

There is a PleXBMC plugin that you can grab that I have used on both PC and Android versions of XBMC that will detect your Plex server from inside XBMC and stream your videos that way.

I thought I would mention this here because all the fuss of video issues and I was really blown away by all these features and it has really helped my T428 shine. Hope this helps/interest some of you!

EDIT: one thing I would like is the ability to install the Google TV version of the Plex app on my T428, but Im assuming that would just be a build.prop edit to access that on the PlayStore?

Thanks for the media setup. I just got my T428 1 week ago and I really want to have a nice smooth 1080p experience on it.

Exactly what rom version are you using? I have the finless 1.5A 4.2.2. Which one would you recommend for the media server?

I bought the T428 to have on the fly when visiting friends and family and playing 1080p fluently. But I haven't found a program on my current rom that play 1080p smooth, only the streaming, but the ratio wasn't good...

I am still running 1.4 (4.2.2). I havent updated yet. Waiting for something from bob since the Kernel source is out.

I dont think it would matter what rom you are running since Plex does all the heavy lifting.
