Is there a custom/better firmware for my box?

In short... No Since there is no, (Or very little), Source Files needed to actually build some kind of AOSP ROMs for these Devices.
The 'ROMs' you atpre probably seeing sans the OpenELEC Ones, are all modified (read re-skined) Stock ROMs.

Hello silakka, If you want to try a custom ROM or other firmware, additional information about your box will be needed. Many of these boxes look identical, but have different guts. Opening the box and recording the info printed on the PCB(board) will help you to avoid bricking your box. Information like model number and board revision and date. The WiFi module is also needed, I see you have listed that as an AP6330, you can confirm that from the PCB.
I would not attempt to load any firmware or ROM without this info. Have fun, but proceed informed and with caution.
