I have the rom for AKASO that has everything working but it is based on 4.4 and not lollipop. maybe someone can port the wifi over? I am trying to get the version to work with a touchscreen monitor, tried everything and no luck.

Hi, I went through about updating m8s in many ways. I managed to install Android 5.1 on my m8s (AP6330). But the framework was unstable, it does not work ethernet and remote control. WiFi worked OK.
Dolphin with dolphin jetpack enabled crashes on each site’s. firefox haven’t tool bar. No navigation bar, no status bar.
I installed the framework from this website:

I have to find another way...

      sorry for my eanglish

Sorry it took me so long..this is the link for a zip file containing the backup, twrp recovery and uboot.I assume you know how to make a bootable sd card for this box...Unrar the zip...After making a bootable sd card using the uboot in the zip file..copy all the files from it to the root of the sd card.. Let me know if this works for you.I will leave the link active for two weeks. It is a little over 1gb..Good Luck

Here is the link to the original firmware (Android 4.4.2) for the Akaso M8S-S812 (WiFi Chip RTL8723BS) that I got from the seller since my box was stuck at the MBOX logo when I received it.

Extract and copy the 3 files on a FAT formatted SD card (SD Card Formatter recommended) and start the box with the SD card and the toothpick method.
Firmware installation should be fully automated without any user interaction needed.

Maybe some clever guy could make the 5.x firmware work with the RTL8723BS WiFi chip using this firmware ???

I have a OTT M8S BCM4335 Chipset and I have installed the M8S+ 5.1.1 firmware from China gadgets reviews and it works everything but the remote. I'm looking for the right patch.
