Great small compact unit, no ventilation to be found, unit has a little weight to it so I dare say Hunk a metal Heat sink for sure.
Unit is running Remix OS 2, looks good, last Remix Unit I fiddle with was the JIDE AllWinner device this Amlogic unit should Rock and Roll.
Not to be caught out like last time this unit has Touch Sensor Control around the Power indication light,
Short touch for sleep, Long touch for Option menu to shutdown or restart or sleep.
Unit fied up quick and the first thing we get is an update available so away we go. Few minutes rest reload looking good.
Not familiar with RemixOS
It's a cross(in the loose cence of the term)between Android and a Windows style of UI operating system, most if not all android apps will run also you have the convenience of a Windows style of UI with Right click options, Windowed apps and lots of other features that make it kind of groovy.
No root as yet that I am aware (yet to go looking to hard) the Vensmile UI does have more room/storage that may make it more attractive,
The Unknown will be the support this unit receives as compared to the mini,
Performance wise it's good, and no issues so far.
Cheers
Thanks trebor! The Vensmile U1 doe have an unlocked boot loader...read comment #5 in the linked Reddit post below. The unlocked boot loader should make this easier to root, yes?
Keep on eye on XDA as mentioned, something may happen,
As a stand alone box and it was part of the Crowdfunding it may get further attention buy those interested in taking up the cause.
As is for those that want Remix with a bit of space ideal unit.
Cheers
