HYSTOU FMP04B Fanless Mini PC - I3 4010U (4G+64G) The Enthusiast Box of Trix

Thanks to Gearbest and DHL super fast to Down Under.

What we have here as I affectionately call is the Brick other may prefer Tank despite the look and size it's not heavy

This model is the i3 4GB Ram and 64GB mSATA, not supplied with a Licenced Windows.
After running it up, had a version on win10 that I was not happy with, So dumped it for now and went the Win7 Route for a bit of a fiddle and ease it into a win10 update later.
mSATA is not of a you beaut super fast I feel as things take a little while to happen, more on this Techo stuff later.

The Hystou Fanless is snappy to operate, but installing or doing things could be better.

Wifi and Ethernet speeds all appear good at present with dloading bits and pieces,

More Ram will be added but as It only has One Memory slot, so out with a 4 and In with and 8GB
The mSATA being 64Gb will also be replaced with a 128GB or larger, and of course you can add a SSD or Normal HDD internally
I think I see and Second PCIe slot for another mSATA.
As Mentioned the HYSTOU Fanless is more of a box for an enthusiast, a Basic Box no this is far from Basic

6 Com Ports handy for all kind of enthusiast stuff,
    8 USB ports 4 x USB3 4 USB2 crazy stuff
2 x Intel GB Lan ports
    2 x HDMI ports

Microphone and Headphone jack in the front and Power Button
Also have a small Brick Power Supply and Bits to complete the power up.110~240, 12vdc 3amps or 36watts.
Power and Sata cable for installing your own HDD/SSD, you can see 4 holes on the base (Third Image) for mounting Internally of course.

How do you turn it on? Can you just flick it on, or do you need to hold the power button for a second or two? I ask because of a video I saw once.
You can delete this post and reserve the second post slot.

Bit of an Update after having a days fiddle with the Hystou,

Removed the version of windows supplied, installed WIndows 7 certainly snappy, all drivers picked up, so if you prefer Windows 7 you should be fine,
but being a sucker for Windows 10 I had to do the upgrade, created a USB Disk for windows 10, into the usb port run setup 20~30 minutes or so minutes late windows 10,
Run's very well and fluid none of the crazy stalls or hiccups I was seeing when I first turned the unit on.

Found an 8GB ram module that I have installed, a SSD I will put in a little later today and things should be nearly complete.
Will get down to some test and benchmarks later, being an i3 should do ok.

          Cheers

Good to see somebody getting their hands on one of these.

Will be interested to see how it fairs with video playback, especially with what seems no dual channel memory option for 2 sticks.

More testing of the Hystou Windows 10 full licensed now, due to a update from Window 7 to WIndows 10

Bit of look at Device manager and all of its the Devices, Windows 10 picked up all devices, no external drivers needed as yet.

Ethernet and wifi speeds are good with good performance found at my location.
Using Fast.com to check speeds they appear ok and seem fairly accurate others can advise

Wifi Setting In Hystou can be customised to you local region and require reboot to take effect
Country Region sets up channels range for your local area was curios to why it would not pick up my other router on ch 13 (wrong region)

Power Consumption on idle is around 6watts as in not doing much, and while running stress tests we got up to 30 watts

The I gave it a Bit of a Bench test,m as we can realise,This Box make no Claim to be Games Machine with Blazing 3d Graphics and such
With all the ports etc excellent for connect to many serial devices that may need control and the equally as many USB ports for various tasks,
The Hardware appears of a good build quality and system is running solid with no unusual anomalies or quiks noticed so far

You would have to consider the Next models up with Faster CPU, more Ram etc if you need more performance
Ideal work PC for a Factory or Business, mount this beast under bench no one would ever know, POS Machine
              I Do like it

Just created a bootable USB stick for the Hystou fmp04b with Linux Mint straight in Sound, WIFI, BT, all picked up, no mucking about at all too easy.

Installation of Plex Media server, and testing, ( will take a few days to find any quirks) working good with the current viewing habits using WIFI from Hystou to Router picking up NAS server then into the Android Sony TV in the Lounge Via ethernet, 10 meters of cable

Using Sony BD player to navigate thru Plex (it's a wife thing) even tho plex is on the TV, looking ok this was going to be the plan to make it a server for Plex, but unsure might have some other use yet. All Good,

This Tank is working out well with WIn7 and win10 so far Linux mint of a USB easy as. Hardware seems quite good and stable indeed.
Still using stock 4gb/64gb base system more system ram 8GB and bigger drive SSD to easy.
                    Cheers

Yes I am tempted(as always) to look at the next model or so up as there is a vast range, (The Need, The need for speed)
If I was going to I would go for max CPU you can add Ram and SSD yourself is my suggestion,
Intel NUC, and Gigabyte Brix are in this area, might be a few specials coming up soon always the problem when to jump.
I don't think you would find one of the above with 8 USB ports and 6 com ports as such.
Some of these Hystou units have 2 ram slots and will go 16GB easy, But in saying all that you get get a desktop box with Close/Better spec.
All about what fits your need. For Business with limited space and don't want a large BOX with Fans excellent Ideal.

I like that they have quite a large range of models to suit all tastes, so you can potentially save a little money any get one without all the serial ports, which for most users I suspect won't ver get used.

Yes this is a Tank, and others do look more pleasing to the eye's pending on one's view, I think we may see a lot more Units like this, not all Models are sold by resellers.

I have the Boss of the House (missus)now testing the Plex side of things and if it does not do well I will certainly hear about it for sure.
