I'm using my 6 years old laptop to write this message. It works just fine with Linux Mint 17 on it, but maybe it is a time to replace it with some Vorke V1. I heard that those little computers are really good!

Well, I always wanted Windows mini PC but they were too expensive for me. Cheap ones doesn’t have USB 3.0 or Gigabit port but I see Vorke V1 has it all. Would be nice to have it.

I am professional .NET developer and would like to get a closer look into Windows based TV-box implementation. I see there are a lot of opportunities for developers to make UWP applications useful specially for TV boxes. I sure Windows 10 is good platform for such devices.

I'd like to win this firstly because I wasted my money on a Chromecast already. The wireless range causes buffering and there's no way to plug in ethernet so unless I create another Access Point it's useless to me. The Vorke has Gigabit Ethernet built in and an Airmont class Celeron should allow me to stream even 4K video in the future! I have everything wired and ready just need a capable player.

Secondly it would be great for me to be able to stream Foxtel (Australia's version of cable) over the unit. There's an app for Windows ONLY that allows me to view it on an attached screen. Be great to watch that in my living room instead! Not to mention being able to run Kodi for my video/music library on my NAS also.

There's a small but steadily growing class of Windows Store games that are improving all the time and should run quite successfully on this 2.24GHz device, allowing me to play tablet class games on the big screen with a controller.

A bluetooth keyboard and trackpad (or motion controller) should also allow me to check and maybe even reply to e-mail and Facebook messages. If I add a webcam to the USB port my family can Video Chat to my family back in Holland right from the living room making it a far more personal experience than the usual huddled around a tablet or notebook screen.

The 4Gb of RAM is plenty for Windows 10 and double the usual memory found in these types of units so I should me able to do more tasks with more responsiveness also. The 64Gb of storage should be plenty for the uses I have in mind for it but the addition of the SATA port for expansion is mighty.

Being able to take memory cards straight out of our Cameras and plug them directly into the unit for viewing on the big screen is also a MAJOR bonus and something I really look forward to.

In summary this is the PERFECT device to replace my (failed) Chromecast in the living room (I'll swap you!). It could only be perfected by the device that also keeps beer cold and on tap.

The reason for this is complicated but I will give it a shot in the amount of time that I have. Last week my home was invaded. Everything was destroyed. I fought the invaders with enduring effort until they paralyzed me with a telepathic trance. They have abducted me against my will if I could have used my will. For the last week I have been trying to contact any human with ingenious intelligence and FREAKTAB is all that is left.
