When you get this error try a different USB Cabel and a different USB Port.
This is the most Failure Reason for this.

    Flashing on MK802IV S

    Hi Guys,

first thank you neomode for the effort and hard work you put into making good roms!

    I got a question though:
How can I flash your ROM on my MK802IV S.
    It's a 16GB version sold in Germany.

When I try to flash I always get "Test failed".
I think it checks the NAND size and gets a wrong answer for not being 8GB.

Is there a possibilty to change the Tests?

    Thanks in advance!

My intention is overclock gpu and ram and underclock cpu and as you suggest using the 720p kernel. So I think this is a moderate overclock. It's just for movie frame skip. I don't play game.
I really like your case but I don't have time to do a serious thing like yours at moment. So I think for now 2 fans are better than no fans

I've tried, it's the same for me with Antutu. Now I've plugged the power supply!
Thanks, it will look even better when it's finished

"2 fans are better than no fans" - True, (don't get me wrong, I'm telling you this for your own good) unless they're completely unefective, and if the air has no way to go in and out of the device to cool it down, that's exactly what they are...

This was the first cooling mod I made on an android media player, the mk808b comes with holes on both sides of the stock case, I was using a custom rom with a kernel with no overclock at all, and I can tell you that my mod was far from effective, and it was using the otg port of the device itself to power the fans, which is very wrong because the stock power supply that comes with this devices, sometimes, ain't even enough to power the device itself, let alone other hardware we want to plug in.

Frame skipping/stuttering issues are fixed with an extreme overclock like your?
I never used the kernel that comes with this firmware, I flashed the extreme overclocked kernel and Neo's mk802iv custom rom at the same time, I also use SetCPU and have it set to 1.8 max. 1000 min. interactive governor, for high system performance and benchmarks I set both min. and max. frequency to 1.9 and performance governor. I don't nottice any stutter or frameskipping on hd / full hd content either streaming from the internet or playing from an external drive. I installed MX Player free from the play store and removed the adds with lucky patcher, I nottice that some streaming content has better picture quality (no horizontal cuts) and loads faster using sw instead of hw/hw+ modes. For streaming I use YouTube, WarezTuga (portuguese streaming app with pt subs), MovieX / VideoX (no, it's not porn :P), amo Navi-X, and XBMC sometimes. I have no idea how Netflix runs because I don't know how to use it on Android in my country... I have to figure this out.

Under which circumstances, using what app, playing what (full hd / hd or sd) content, streaming or playing from an external drive, do you nottice the stutter and frameskipping? Send me a link to a streaming video / movie you're having problems with, to see if the same thing happens when I play it with my current setup.

lol insane casing mods there! I've been 1.2ghz underclocked cpu and overclocked ram and gpu and it never gets hot unlike its default or overclocked cpu kernels

The cased I'm currently using on my MK802IV, it's almost finished, but still needs a bit of work:

I removed it from the original case, placed it on a 2.5" external hdd case and added a 6x6cm fan

The stock wifi antenna was replaced by an external d-link antenna, I intend to add a 2 channel switch
that will power on/off both fan and device at the same time, while using two different power supplies,
the otg port can also be accessed from outside the case, I just need to work out how I will press the
flash button (probably just drill a hole on the case) and how to insert / remove the micro sd card.

I don't think that, because of the way they're installed, your fans are being effective. The cold air has no way to go in and out of the original case to cool the device. That said, I wouldn't use any extreme overclocked kernels with your current setup. The kernel I'm using is the 720p 1.9ghz ram 1500mhz extreme overclock (19177 antutu score), I've tried 1080p oveclocked kernels and I didn't nottice any improvement regarding picture quality or frameskipping when compared to 720p kernels, I use an LG
    led 47" full hd tv.

If yes, you could try one of the 1080p overclocked kernels (don't use the ones with extreme overclock unless you have adittional cooling) from sam321. If not, and your device is a mk802iv, I highly recommend this custom rom from neo, it should solve most problems, I'm using it and I don't nottice any frameskiping on 720p/1080p either streaming from the internet or playing directly from an external hdd.
Yes, I have mk802iv using neotv cr 1.0 custom rom with original 720p kernel. What kernel are you using to fix frame skipping issue? I was thinking to try this "1.2ghz gpu 600mhz ram 1200mhz 1080p" or this one "1.6ghz gpu 533mhz ram 1000mhz 1080p". Both of us are Sam321 kernel. What do you think about?

EDIT: This is my situation: added two fans, one for side. Is it enough for not extreme overclock?

I have MK809III from W2COMP. Can I use this fw on this stick?
Maybe there's also an instruction how to backup existing fw in order to put it back in the case of emergency?

What about frame skipping? Youtube video is nice when works at 720p, it's strange when streaming works better then downloaded file

Regarding the wifi interference, I have put my router on channel 6 to solve the same issue and it's working fine, even with all the other routers around. Generally speaking, the configurations that the ISP's on Portugal use don't bring channel 6 by default and since "nobody changes nothing"...
As last resort try it out if nothing else works, it worked for me.
Thanks, mine is working fine now, but I have to switch channel from time to time on router settings, from default it was configured to use channel 6, but I mostly use channel 1 now. I also installed an external d-link wifi antenna and have it on a case that was initially destined to a mk808b, I'll post some photos once it's finished.

I had a big problem in the past. Was the writing "Saved, secured with WPA2" but no wifi connection. With this rom finally Wifi works great and it is very stable. So thanks a lot Neomode!!
    But I've some issues:

1 - hardware acceleration doesn't work on MXplayer with 1080p video but works on 720p

2 - After some hours of use stick reboot itself automatically. I use the mk802iv with usb power of tv. Could I solve this with the Sam321 underclock kernel? Is it compatible with your rom? Or could I solve the issues with a couple of 5V fan plugget on tv?

3 - Although I use Hardware acceleration I see frame skipping in Hd videos and some sd to, while Audio is ok

All of that issues are the same with original 4.2 rom except for first point. What can I do?
Thanks again. Waiting for your guidance
If the usb port from your tv is not enough to power your android device alone, adding a few fans that will also be powered from your tv will only make it worse. Go with lunohod advice, use an independent 5V 2amp power supply only to power the android device, anything else that you want to plug on it should be done using a self powered hub, especially 2.5" external hdd's because they're not self powered.
