I have looked all over with teh google machine, but most of the replies contain "are you sure you're rooted?" and "hmm, it works fine for me".

If you could point a newb in the right direction, he would be most greatful.
It all started working for me when I made the file executable with ES file explorer. Just the top line in the checkbox page for permissions... I think that was the fix anyways. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip hoabycsr. As it turns out, everything was working as it should the whole time. Evidently, my tv doesn't support 50hz, so every time I would change the value, the OS would automatically rewrite with valid data. I still really want to test this out though...

I think it´s dumb that we should even have to resort to these sorts of things but if you can run it at 50hz it´s a good amount better.. I found that in another thread, gave it a try back to back with 60hz, tried all resolutions. 50hz surely is better at the moment but yeah I suppose one´s tv has to support it. I use mostly monitors with hdmi... they seem to support almost anything. Good luck^^
