T428 not supported on my TV

    Hi all,

I received my T428 today, and when I plug into my TV I don't see anything (black screen).
I've try on 3 TV, 2 of them display "video format not supported" and the 3th, I seen the lock screen but any click results on an black screen with the message "video format not supported".

I'm living in France, the T428 isn't compatible with french TV? Anyone have this issue and resolve it?

Should I return back my device?

    Thank for your help.

    Hi,

I have the same problem with 2 out of 3 of my LG tv's. Its as though the tv doesnt grab the signal.

If I repeatedly turn the T428 off and on eventually all 3 tv's grab the signal.

At first I thought the T428 was not booting but I plugged it into a monitor and it was there and booted properly its just the tv's dont see them for some reason.

The other strange thing is my Imito qx1 boots properly in any of my tv's.

My friend is having exactly the same problem as me with his t428 but his tv is sony.

Maybe it's because refresh rate is set to 60p and in france we use 50p, you can check that in file /sys/devices/virtual/display/display0.HDMI/mode

PAL (Europe) 50Hz or any multiple
NTSC (America) 60Hz or any multiple.

For exemple here in Canada if set to 50Hz signal not recognize.
T428 ,Radxa Rock (RR), cs918s v1.0, waiting for my X7...

Ok, thanks mate will try changing this, also will look what my qx1 is set too as this always works and change the t428 to be the same. Strange though as i only have this problem from a cold start , once its been running a while I can turn it off , reboot it everything and it always gets picked up by the tv.

            Thanks for the advice

                Hi BigBrutus,

As you can't display your device on a tv to use root explorer I have just been looking about on the web for you and may have found a good pc based solution.

                Its called android commander.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=597098

I think its what you need but Im a numpty noob so I havn't actually used it although I'm going to mess about with it tonight. Hope it helps. If not though theres loads of people on here who will help you with more expierience than me, sure they can recommend something better.

                Cheers

you can edit /sys/devices/virtual/display/display0.HDMI/mode with "es explorer", go to Tools, mount partitions as r/w then go the directory, long click on the file and edit then save.

                    Hi,

I didnt know you can use es explorer on a pc to change stuff I am going to try this tonight I like es as its nice and easy to use. I only recommended android comander because he says in his first post that he can't display on any of his tv's so I thought he could plug into his lappy change the mode and hopefully he will be able to see the unit on his tv's afterwards.

                    Cheers

My problem it's I can't seen my stick on my tv (maybe frequencies issues).

Fortunatly I found an monitor with an DVI port, with an HDMI->DVI adaptator I can connect to my stick and change the HDMI resolution from 1920x1080P (60Hz) to 1920x1080P (50Hz).
I'll try tonight on my TV hoping this solve my problem

I have another question, when I plugged my stick on the monitor, I see red marks (afterglow), I don't know if it's because I use an adaptor or if my stick have an problem (gpu?) did you have the same problem? (I'll try posting some screenshots).

                          Thanks all for your replies

I hope it works for you or you can send it back to china ! I didn't notice any artefact on the screen, no afterglow, maybe it comes from the dvi-hdmi converter !

                              Hi

                              Unfortunatly my test failed
After I changed the resolution to 1080p (50Hz), when I plug it into my TV I still have a black screen I've checked and my TV supports 1080p (60Hz).

I've contacted geekbuying to exchange my device, now I'm waiting their instructions

I hope this is not a compatibility issue (the T428 not supported in France), but this would be weird no ? The HDMI isn't it an mondial standard ?
But how explain when I use the HDMI->DVI adaptor on an monitor that works
